Validity of the Turkish Version of the Profile Fitness Mapping Neck Questionnaire for Patients With...

PainNeck Pain4 more

As patients improve on one parametric result, the results on the other parametric may worsen, but the total score may not be affected. For this reason, it would be useful to make measurements that evaluate all the parameters of the patients. Thus, it would be more advantageous to score both pain and symptoms separately, as well as activity limitations. Therefore, neck specific surveys are needed to meet this need. For this reason, this study was planned to determine the validity of the questionnaire named "Profile Fitness Mapping Neck Questionnaire" in patients with neck pain.

Electrical Impedance Myography of Neck and Low Back Pain

Low Back PainNeck Pain

The purpose of this study is to assess neck and low back pain using Electrical Impedance Myography (EIM) in order to develop an algorithm to aid primary care providers (PCPs) in the diagnosis of neck/back pain. Secondary goals include the refinement of EIM technology and associated software of ease-of-use and interpretation by PCPs and staff.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of coping strategies and catastrophizing thoughts on disability and the prognosis of back and neck pain in patients treated within the Spanish National Health Service. Patients will be given a visual analog scale (VAS) to rate intensity of pain, the Roland Morris Questionnaire (RMQ) or the Neck Disability Index (NDI) to rate the degree of disability, and the Coping Strategies Questionnaire (CSQ) to rate coping strategies and catastrophizing. Questionnaires will be given at baseline and three months later.

Study to Demonstrate That Muscle Pattern Recognition (MPR) is an Effective Evaluation Tool for Musculoskeletal...

Neck PainLow Back Pain

The investigators hypothesize that non able-bodied participants with reported acute, sub-acute, or chronic symptoms of neck or back pain of a musculoskeletal origin will have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), X-ray and blood parameters that do not demonstrate a statistical difference between "normal" (able-bodied) volunteers. Muscle pattern recognition (MPR) testing will show statistically different results between these groups. This statistically significant finding in MPR results will enhance a clinician's determination of clinical normality or abnormality. If this hypothesis is demonstrated, the MPR modality will be the first quantitative tool developed for assisting in the diagnosis of the presence or absence of a musculoskeletal dysfunction in a patient population. The availability of such an evaluation tool to a healthcare provider for patients with soft tissue, non-surgical neck or back complaints will substantially improve the accuracy of diagnosis and case management decisions.

Cervical Cord to Canal Diameter Ratio

Cervical Pain

Cervical epidural block could cause spinal cord injury if the epidural needle is over-inserted and punctures the spinal cord. Investigators retrospectively evaluated the imaging data of 100 patients (50 men and 50 women) who underwent both cervical computed tomography (CT) and cervical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at our hospital. Investigators measured the diameters of the spinal canal and spinal cord from the 3rd cervical vertebra to the 1st thoracic vertebra (T1) at each level by using the patients' cervical CT and MR images. The spinal cord and spinal canal diameters were measured in the transverse plane of cervical MR and CT images, respectively.
