Post Operative PainCesarean Section7 more

It will be a prospective observational cohort study. The investigators will compare post-cesarean section recovery in patients receiving intravenous infusion of tramadol-ondansetron versus epidural catheter with infusion of local anesthetics.

Superior Trunk Block Applied for Upper Arm and Shoulder Surgery

Post Operative Pain

Nerve blocks applied with ultrasonography are currently used for many post-operative pain and operations. Providing adequate area analgesia is the primary goal of clinicians, as early mobilization is suggested after shoulder and arm surgery. In this study aimed to investigate the effect of superior trunk block application on postoperative analgesic and motor functions.

The Effect of Emotional Freedom Technique on Postoperative Pain and Anxiety on Total Knee Replacement...

Total Knee Replacement

Since pain is a complex and unpleasant feeling that affects the individual physically, mentally and socially, it should be controlled. It is also known that major surgeries such as orthopedics and traumatology, general surgery and cardiovascular surgery cause fear of death in the patient, and this fear is then replaced by general anxiety and post-operative pain. The emotional freedom technique is a method that uses cognitive functions and physical components (tapping acupuncture points) to bring about psychological changes. It is also defined as "needle-free acupuncture" or "an emotional form of acupressure" because it is a gentle, non-invasive procedure and uses acupuncture meridians. This method, which is very old in Eastern cultures, started to be used in the West in the 1980s. In this developed technique, all 12 points on the 12 basic meridians, which are the flow paths of the energy in the body, are used. In the emotional liberation technique tour, general anxiety, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, fears and the discomfort caused by anxiety are eliminated and all kinds of targeted problems are cured. Considering the patients as a whole in terms of biopsychosocial is the basic element of nursing. It is inevitable to experience pain and anxiety in the post-operative period in individuals who are in a foreign environment such as a hospital and who have undergone major surgery such as total knee replacement. With this study, it is expected that the emotional freedom technique will contribute to the national and international literature on the effect of pain and anxiety in the post-operative period and will be a source of information in the development of nursing science on the use of non-pharmacological treatments that can be used in the treatment of pain and anxiety in patients.

Surgical Outcomes Following Neurectomy Based Upon Response to Local Anesthetic Injection in Chronic...

HerniaInguinal1 more

The management of chronic pain after inguinal hernia surgery presents unique challenges. Ilioinguinal nerve blocks are often used in the initial treatment of this disease. This can often be followed by surgery, including neurectomy and/or hernia mesh removal. In an effort to identify preoperative predictors of postoperative outcomes following these surgical interventions the investigators devised a study to prospectively evaluate and correlate a patients pre-operative response to an ilioinguinal nerve block with their post-operative outcomes following surgery for chronic groin pain after inguinal hernia surgery.

Split Scripts for Pediatric Supracondylar Fracture Repairs

PainPostoperative

This study is designed to test the hypothesis that increased electronic order-set compliance and focused education will decrease the amount of unconsumed opioid entering and remaining in the home after pediatric supracondylar fracture repair The proposed study will address the hypothesis with the following objectives: investigators will increase compliance with previously implemented standardized precision-based electronic discharge order sets; investigators will introduce part-fill opioid prescriptions for supracondylar fracture repairs; investigators will increase parental compliance with home administration of simple (non-opioid) analgesics; investigators will decrease opioid amount remaining in the home pre and post 3-week follow up.

Postoperative Pain in Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy Surgery With Tranexamic Acid: Analgesia?...

Pharmacological Action

Prostate cancer is the most diagnosed cancer among men today. Radical prostatectomy is a surgery that significantly reduces disease-related mortality. The laparoscopic technique, on the other hand, is preferred because it shortens the hospital stay, faster recovery and less postoperative pain.In this study, it was planned to investigate the analgesic or hyperalgesic effects of tranexamic acid, which is widely used in the management of bleeding in trauma, orthopedic, genitourinary and gynecological surgeries. Routine noninvasive monitoring (ECG, Spo2, NIBP) will be performed when participatient are taken to the operating table without premedication. After midazolam is administered, intubation will be performed by administering 1mg/kg lidocaine, 3mg/kg propofol, 2mcg/kg fentanyl, 0.6mg/kg rocuronium. Anesthesia will be maintained with desflurane with a MAC of 1. A 0.1-0.5 mcg/kg/min remifentanil infusion will be administered by targeting 40-60 values with BIS monitoring. After intubation, 15mg/kg tranexamic acid will be given 10 minutes before the incision, and 100 mg/h infusion will be administered until the skin is closed. The control group will be given 100 ml of saline.1mg/kg tramadol and 1gr parol will be administered 30 minutes before the end of the operation. The primary objectives of the study were to learn the VAS (Visual analog scale) score at 0.6,12, 24,48,72 hours, time to first analgesic requirement, and analgesic requirement within 24 hours. Secondary purposes are to determine the amount of antiemetic used, at the beginning of the operation, Hg at the first hour and postoperative 6 hours, complications and side effects (such as DVT, pulmonary embolism).
