Knowledge and Attitude of Pregnant Women Towards Preeclampsia

Our study will be a cross sectional study to evaluate the knowledge level and attitude of pregnant women towards preeclampsia and factors affecting it ,the study will be done at Assiut University Hospitals - Women's Health Hospital. all pregnant women who will come to ANC visits will be included .the study tool is a well structured questionnaire for assessment of our outcomes.

Eclampsia is a serious pregnancy complication.In our study we aim to characterize the clinical signs and symptoms that occur prior to the onset of eclampsia in a prospectively collected cohort.And Compare these characteristics to women with preeclampsia and healthy normal pregnancies to identify which features represent a unique clinical signature for eclampsia to form a simple predictive algorithm .

Use of Lumella-glycosylated Fibronectin for Diagnosis of Preeclampsia

women with symptoms of preeclampsia from antenatal clinic or triage will be offered Lumella test along with traditional blood tests. If Lumella test is positive which will be compared with the traditional blood test results. Once 50 positive cases have been analysed the study results will be submitted to NICE.

Clinical Trial of a COX-2 Inhibitor for the Treatment of Women With Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy and a leading cause of fetal and maternal morbidity and mortality. Recent findings indicate preeclampsia is an inflammatory disorder associated with increased expression of COX-2. This study will test the hypothesis that treatment of women with a COX-2 inhibitor, celecoxib, will stop the inflammatory process and reverse symptoms of preeclampsia.

The aim of this study is to evaluate women's perception on first-trimester preeclampsia screening as it is performed currently in daily practice. Thus, the investigators will assess the degree of satisfaction regarding the information received previously to the date of screening, and on the same day the screening is performed (at the time of first-trimester scan). Women's unsderstanding regarding preeclampsia screening will be evaluated by means of an anonymous online questionnaire. Anxiety and stress related to the results will also be assessed.
