However, there is no separate recommendation for home follow-up and care of mothers and babies who gave birth preterm. In addition, there are deficiencies in the effective conduct of home visits specified in these guides. In addition to the parents' lack of knowledge about the long-term follow-up and care of these babies, the coordination between primary and secondary health care providers and senior health care providers is not at the desired level. In addition to all these, services such as training and consultancy cannot be carried out due to disruptions in many polyclinic services due to the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide. For this reason, there is a need to develop programs for home care and follow-up of preterm infants, who are a sensitive population, in terms of both reducing the patient density in hospitals and reducing the hospital return rates of preterm infants. In this context, the aim of our research is; The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of discharge training based on the Transition Model in parents with preterm infants.H1: In the group in which the interventions based on the Transition Model are applied, the information needs of the parents will be met more compared to the control group. H1: Parent-infant role development will be higher in the group in which interventions based on the Transition Model are applied. H1: The level of coping with stress will be better in the group in which interventions based on the Transition Model are applied. H1: The level of grief will be lower in the group in which interventions based on the Transition Model are applied. H1: The level of postpartum depression will be lower in the group in which interventions based on the Transition Model are applied. Objective: It is aimed to examine the effect of facilitated tucking after vaginal delivery on late preterm stress, comfort and physiological parameters. Design: The study was designed randomized controlled study. Setting: The study was conducted spontaneous vaginal delivery of late preterm at State Hospital between January-June 2020. Participants: In order to determine the sample size of the study, power analysis was performed using the G*Power (v3.1, 7) program, and a total of 60 preterm were sampled, facilitated tucking (n=30) and control group (n=30). Methods: In the study, Newborn Information and Registration Form, Neonatal Comfort Behavior Scale (NCBS) and Newborn Stress Scale (NSS) were used. As for physiological parameters, for the temperature is used private digital thermometer, for the saturation and heart rate is used device preferred in hospital routine and lastly the respirator rate is clocked by nurses.

Noise is a hazard for newborn. In 1997, the American Academy of Pediatrics determined that safe sound levels in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) should not exceed 45 dB which has been rarely achieved. High intensities of noise have several negative effects on preterm newborns. Also, they are exposed to either continuous bright light continuous near darkness or unstructured combination of the two during their hospitalizations. The investigators primary objective is to determine the impact of reduced noise levels and cycled light on growth parameters and visual development in preterm infants.

The purpose of this study is to compare neurodevelopment and activity in infants born very preterm (26 to 33 6/7 weeks gestational age (GA)) receiving Standard Care (SC) or Family Nurture Intervention (FNI) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The study investigator hypothesizes that FNI will improve: i) neonatal electroencephalographic activity ii) maternal caregiving and wellbeing (psychological and physiological), and iii) infant behavior and neurodevelopment at 18 months corrected age (CA). The study aims to: - Replicate efficacy from an earlier trial by conducting the study at multiple sites to allow for greater generalizability. Results from research will have implication on neurobehavioral and physiologic outcomes as important indicators for the possible effect of swaddling during bottle feeding.

Prematurity of Fetus

The investigators examined the effect of different levels of docosahexaenoic aicd (a long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid) intake on the fatty acid composition of plasma and erythrocyte phospholipids and on the maturity of visually evoked potentials in preterm infants. As a secondary outcome the conversion of linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid into their corresponding long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids was studied. Preterm infants were randomized in a double-blind fashion to one of three formulas containing different amounts of docosahexaenoic acid during the first two weeks of postnatal life. A control group received human milk. Blood samples were collected at study entry and 14 and 28 days thereafter. Uniformly 13C-labeled linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid were applied orally before blood sampling at day 28. At postconceptional ages 48 weeks and 56 weeks visually evoked potentials were recorded.

The aim of the trial is to investigate the effect of daily supplementation with 2.7 grams of long chain n-3 fatty acids during the third trimester of pregnancy. In 1990, 533 pregnant women, while they were in gestational week 30, were randomized to fish oil supplements providing the mentioned amount of long chain n-3 fatty acids, olive oil supplements, or no supplements; they were asked to take the supplements until delivery. Health outcomes were assessed during pregnancy and delivery. Further, offspring health and development has been examined during the ensuring two decades by making linkages to the rich Danish health and administrative registries, by asking the offspring to complete web-based questionnaires, and by examining the offspring physically.
