Effects of Parenteral Nutrition With Different Lipid Emulsions in Preterm Infants
Preterm InfantPrevious studies have suggested that olive oil-based emulsion is safe and well tolerated in preterm infants, a showed efficacy and a good clinical and biological safety profile. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of a new olive-oil based lipid emulsion compared with the traditional lipid emulsions.

Vermont Intervention: Effect on Joint Attention Skills Between Parents and Moderate/Late Preterm...
Premature BirthThe purpose of this study is to investigate if the effects of the Vermont intervention, implemented by nurses in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), can influence social interaction and joint attention skills between parents and preterm babies in the second half of the first year of life.

To Improve the Rate of Mother's Own Milk Feeding of Premature Infants in NICU
Quality ImprovementBreast-feeding1 moreThirteen hospitals in China will participate in the study, which objectives of this study is to improve the rate of mother's own milk feeding of premature infants in neonatal intensive care unit(NICU), evaluate the effectiveness of improving the quality of breastfeeding in clinical use ,form standardized process and improve clinical medical quality of premature infants.

Effects of Baby Massage on Parenting Stress and Attachment in Premature
Premature BirthThis study is an experimental randomized controlled clinical trial. To explore the effect of infant massage on parental pressure and parent-child attachment of premature infants. The intervention time was from 5 days after birth to discharge from premature infants. Data were collected at five time points in longitudinal, before massage (T0), one week (T1), four weeks (T2), and eight weeks ( T3), 12 weeks (T4). Parents in the experimental group were given massage interventions when visiting premature babies, while parents in the control group visited premature babies as usual and contacted premature babies according to general nursing instructions.

Transition to Home (TtH) After Preterm Birth
Preterm BirthPreterm birth is associated with significant and often life-long developmental, emotional and financial burdens. Preterm infants face several challenges that continue late into life, including developmental delays, social, and behavioural problems and poor academic performance. Parents also suffer considerable emotional and physical stress which in turn can have a negative impact on the child's development. In Switzerland, during the transition from hospital to home, there are not many interventions intended to improve mental health outcomes in parents or to promote positive parenting to improve developmental outcomes for the preterm infant. There are also few interventions to reduce associated health care costs. In order to improve parent and preterm infant outcomes, reduce hospital stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), lower readmission rates, and avoid unnecessary use of primary care resources a unique, new model of transitional care was developed. The new 'Transition to Home' (TtH) model makes use of well-tested, successful methods of post-discharge care. The investigators' study will evaluate the organizational and financial feasibility and cost effectiveness of the TtH model for infants born preterm by measuring the impact of an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)-led intervention at the Children's University Hospital Bern. The intervention focuses on improving parental mental health and well-being, on infant growth and development, and on lowering overall costs. The investigators will gather data and then adapt and test the model within a longitudinal interventional comparative effectiveness study, and prepare it for other Cantons in Switzerland to implement.

The Effect of Breast Milk Smell on Nutrition in Preterms
Breast MilkDigestion3 moreThe study was planned to determine the effect of breast milk odor applied during gavage feeding on early feeding cues of preterm newborns, the transition time to oral feeding and abdominal perfusion.

Sleep Program on Preterm Infants' Sleep, and Caregiver's Sleep, Stress, Quality of Life, and Attachment...
Preterm InfantsSleep1 moreThis research plan to construct an "Early Sleep Facilitation Program"and to explore the effects of the "early sleep Facilitation program" on the sleep and health of preterm infants and the sleep, stress, quality of life and attachment of the caregiver for a Long-term follow-up research. The proposed study has six specific aims: Explore the effect of "Early Sleep Facilitation Program" on the sleep of preterm infants during hospitalization and after returning home. Explore the effect of "Early Sleep Facilitation Program" on the health of preterm infants during hospitalization and after returning home. Explore the effect of "Early Sleep Facilitation Program" on the sleep of the caregiver after preterm infants during hospitalization and after returning home. Explore the effect of the "Early Sleep Facilitation Program" on the stress of the caregivers of preterm infants during hospitalization and after returning home. Explore the effect of "Early Sleep Facilitation Program" on the quality of life of the caregivers of preterm infants during hospitalization and after returning home. Explore the effect of "Early Sleep Facilitation Program" on the attachment of the caregivers of preterm infants during hospitalization and after returning home.

The Efficacy of Paracetamol in Reducing Pain During Ophthalmological Examination for Retinopathy...
Retinopathy of PrematurityRetinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is one of the major morbidity among preterm infants. Although, local anesthetics reduce pain to some extent, eye examination still remains as a painful procedure. The investigators aimed to evaluate the effect of oral paracetamol combined with local anesthetics for pain relief during ophthalmological examination.

How Effect Olive Oil and Eoprotin on Immunological Parameters and Growth
Breast Milk ExpressionPremature Birth of NewbornThis study aims to compare immunologic parameters of 60 patients who are 1-28 days-aged, below 1500-gram body weight, born before 32 weeks of gestational age and fed with eoprotin or olive-oil fortified breast milk. Cases will receive same amount of calorie intake either with eoprotin or olive oil fortified-breast milk. If investigators identify that olive oil doesn't increase proinflammatory cytokines and grant enough weight gain in premature infants at the end of the study, investigators will suggest olive oil to replace eoprotin which is a very costly breast milk-fortifier.
