Physical Fitness Levels in Children and Adolescents With Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (CIBD):...

Crohn's EnteritisCrohn Disease7 more

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), including Crohn's disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC) and IBD-unclassified (IBD-U), are characterised by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Over the past 50 years, the incidence of IBD has increased globally, with the highest increase in industrialised countries. During the last 25 years, the incidence of IBD has increased dramatically among teenagers in northern France, with an increase of 126% and 156% for CD and UC, respectively. Physical fitness is a set of attributes related to a person's ability to perform physical activities that require aerobic capacity, endurance, strength or flexibility and is determined by a combination of regular physical activity and genetically inherited ability. Physical fitness, widely recognised as an important health determinant, plays an important role in growth and development. Due to the evidence-based importance of physical fitness for young people's health status, attention should be paid to the assessment of physical fitness at these ages and whatever the health status. At this time, there is no study on the assessment of physical fitness in IBD pediatric patient.

Phenomics in Autoimmune and Inflammatory Diseases

Healthy VolunteerRheumatoid Arthritis12 more

The family of inflammatory/autoimmune systemic diseases (IAD) form a continuum from pure inflammatory diseases to pure autoimmune diseases, encompassing a large panel of inflammatory diseases with some autoimmune components, and vice versa. Cross phenotyping of patients with IAD should be heuristic and help revise the nosography and the understanding of these diseases.

Study of the Impact of a Physical Activity Programme on the Quality of Life of Patients With Inflammatory...

Crohn Disease Haemorrhagic Rectocolitis

Regular physical activity at a mild to moderate intensity can control inflammation in general and intestinal inflammation in particular during IBD. The effectiveness of a physical activity programme has been evaluated during IBD, but the data are limited to a few studies. Overall, PA improves quality of life but also improves control of disease symptoms and fatigue . The aim of the present work is to evaluate the impact of a physical activity programme on quality of life in patients with IBD. This programme will also evaluate the impact of physical activity on 1) anxiety-depression, 2) fatigue (a frequent and difficult to manage symptom in IBD), 3) IBD activity, 4) smoking cessation.

Suspicion of Non IgE-mediated Cow's Milk Protein Allergy: Prevalence and Evolution

Food Allergy in InfantsProctocolitis4 more

Cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) is often evoked in infants, in particular in front of delayed symptoms such as rectal bleeding, atopic dermatitis, excessive crying, reflux, failure to thrive... But in case of non IgE-mediated CMPA, the only way to diagnose this allergy is to proceed to an elimination-reintroduction test over a period of 2 to 4 weeks, to improve symptoms first, and then provoke them. Even if the diagnosis is confirmed, we speculate that non IgE-mediated CMPA has a faster resolution than other CMPA. The first aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of non IgE-mediated CMPA in a cohort of infants with delayed symptoms which could be relied to a CMPA. The second goal is evaluate the age of tolerance in non IgE-mediated CMPA with oral food challenge for milk ever 2 months after 4 months of age.
