Prostate Cancer PatientsPatients with castrate resistant prostate cancer (CRPCA) with osseous metastatic disease planning to undergo Ra-223 therapy may be eligible for this study. Positron emission tomography (PET/CT) imaging will use the investigational radiotracer [11C]acetate. Imaging will occur prior to Ra-223 therapy and after 2 cycles, in addition to standard of care 99mTcMDP bone scan at baseline and a research 99mTc-MDP bone scan post-therapy

Prostate CancerHigh RiskThis is a prospective, single-center, open-label pilot study of 68GA-PSMA-11 given at a single time prior to PET/CT imaging in men with localized high risk prostate cancer or biochemical recurrence. The imaging agent (68 Ga-PSMA 11 will be administered on an outpatient basis. It will be administered prior to the PET/CT imaging. The objective is to evaluate the distribution of 68GA-PSMA-11 in tissues and to determine if this alters the planned clinical management.

Adenocarcinoma of the ProstateIn this research study, the investigators are looking to determine the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug, STA9090 alone and in combination with dutasteride for the treatment of castrate resistant prostate cancer. STA9090 may cause the growth of cancer to slow down or shrink by targeting proteins required for the cancer to grow. The investigators are also looking to determine whether the use of dutasteride to lower male hormone levels will enhance the effect of STA9090 in the treatment of castrate resistant prostate cancer.

Intraepithelial Prostatic NeoplasiaProstatic NeoplasmsThe purpose of this research study is to compare the effects of a lycopene supplement made from tomatoes to a placebo (a capsule with no active ingredients) in men who have abnormal cells in the prostate, but have not yet had cancer detected. This study will allow us to see if taking lycopene for six months leads to favorable changes in abnormal prostate tissue and in chemicals measured in the blood that go along with a higher risk of developing cancer.

Prostate CancerDecision-aids are tools to educate patients on a given topic so that they may better participate in shared-decision making in their health care. Given the complexities associated with PSA testing, many professional organizations have advocated for shared-decision making for PSA testing. However, no consensus exists as to how best educate and involve patients in the shared-decision making process. The goal of this study is to evaluate a pilot program utilizing a simple PSA screening decision-aid presented in two different fashions in a primary care clinic with a large fraction of African-American patients. The investigators will evaluate the effectiveness of this program to educate patients on the risks and benefits of prostate specific antigen (PSA) testing, on their subsequent level of comfort with their decision about whether to receive PSA testing, and on the comfort level of physicians on their patient's decisions regarding PSA testing, and importantly, how well these strategies can be implemented into the daily work-flow of a clinic. If successful, this program may serve as a model for the broader implementation of such strategies across Minnesota and the country.
