Decrease of Proteinuria With H.P. Acthar Gel and Its Effects on Clinical and Podocyte Function

Patients with proteinuria to start treatment with Acthar and watch a variety of clinical parameters with a goal of decreasing proteinuria between 50-100% over a period of nine months with every 3 months increasing the dose of medication until a decrease of either 50- 100 % of protein excretion is achieved. In addition addition podocyte function will be assessed monthly by measuring suPar levels, tnf alpha, podocyte/creatinine levels as well as podocyte function studies.

Random Urine Protein-creatinin Ratio to Predict Magnitude of Proteinuria

Pre-eclampsia

The aim of this study was to evaluate diagnostic accuracy of the spot urinary proteinuria, random urine protein- creatinin ratio for prediction of significant proteinuria (≥ 300 mg/24h) and magnitude of proteinuria in patients with in mild preeclampsia and severe preeclampsia. The cross-sectional longitudinal study design used, 209 patients with pre-diagnosed preeclampsia in which in our inpatients clinic included this study. Random urine samples were taken before the 24 hour urine collection for spot urine analysis for evaluated proteinuria and protein/creatinin ratio. 24 hour urine analysis was performed in all patients as the gold standard of the urine total proteinuria.

Kidney Function in Patients With Bladder Exstrophy

Classic Bladder ExstrophyRenal Function2 more

Patients with classical bladder exstrophy undergo many surgical interventions with secondary urinary tract infections complicating their course. lately primary definitive surgical correction of this congenital anomaly has been implemented with satisfactory results. Although bladder exstrophy patients are born with normal kidneys, infectious and mechanical surgical complications can potentially damage their kidneys in the long-term. therefore we decided to evaluate renal function in the long-term in these patients.

uChek Pilot Study for Urinalysis in the Antenatal Care Setting

PreeclampsiaEclampsia2 more

A prospective observational study to test the feasibility of smartphone enabled uChek urinalysis device to detect biomarkers (protein, microalbumin and protein:creatine ratio) in urine, indicative of preeclampsia/eclampsia at over 22 weeks of gestation and assess attitudes of clinicians towards uChek as a new technology for urinalysis.

Studying the Relationship Between Mean Platelet Volume and Neutrophil/ Lymphocyte Ratio With Inflammation...

Evaluation of Early Inflammatory Process in CKD

Inflammation begins during early stages of CKD in which neutrophil counts are increased, whereas lymphocyte counts are decreased during inflammation. In addition to known conventional indications of inflammation such as C-reactive protein (CRP), fibrinogen, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, several interleukins and tumor necrotizing factor alpha, Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has increasingly been reported as a measure of systemic inflammation (Okyay G U et al 2013 and Yilmaz G et al ,2017) Several recent studies have shown that mean platelet volume (MPV) is also increased during inflammation and may be associated with poorer prognosis in CKD (Yilmaz G et al ,2017).
