The purpose of this study is to see whether adults with Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) are willing to be in a 12-week study where they have a 50-50 chance of being placed in either a gentle yoga program or a film-based education program designed for people with RLS. If so, do they complete the program, and does their RLS, sleep, mood, or quality of life improve?

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn´s disease or ulcerative colitis, have recurring episodes of abdominal pain, diarrhea and loss of weight. Besides this other clinical symptoms are possible e.g. deficiency syndromes such as iron deficiency. Iron deficiency usually attended by symptoms like hair loss, pale skin, loss of concentration or fatigue. In some cases iron deficiency can lead to neurological manifestations such as restless-legs-syndrome (RLS). Restless legs syndrome is a neurological disorders which is accompanied by substantial urge to move legs or other parts of the body and unpleasant sensations. Aim of this study is to to investigate the prevalence of RLS in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and furthermore evaluate the effect of iron supplementation in patients with iron deficiency and concomitant RLS.

The occurrence of emergence agitation (EA) in pediatric patients who have received sevoflurane anesthesia is a common postoperative problem. Among various strategies for reducing the incidence and severity of EA, the use of pharmacological agents at the end of anesthesia is thought to be the most convenient and easily applicable method in clinical situation. The one of typical agents that can be administered in this way is propofol. Previous studies demonstrated that the use of propofol 1mg/kg at the end of anesthesia could reduce the incidence of EA with low incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting. However, it was also demonstrated that the use of propofol 1mg/kg at the end of anesthesia could delay the emergence time. The purpose of this study is to compare the preventive effect on EA and the emergence time between propofol 1mg/kg and propofol 0.5mg/kg administered at the end of sevoflurane anesthesia.

Akathisia

Akathisia is a movement disorder that is often a side effect of certain psychiatric drugs. People with akathisia are unable to sit or keep still, complain of restlessness, fidget, rock from foot to foot, and pace. Akathisia is sometimes called "restless legs syndrome." The drugs that can cause akathisia are most often used to treat patients with schizophrenia or mental retardation (MR). This study will evaluate akathisia in both schizophrenic and MR patients who either have long-term akathisia or who are starting treatment with psychiatric drugs.

Often women are prescribed hormone replacement therapy (HRT) during the perimenopause or menopause. Hormone replacement therapy includes both estrogen and progesterone. The estrogen component of HRT helps to relieve the symptoms and has a beneficial effect on the heart and bones, but estrogen also increases the risk of uterine cancer. The progesterone component of the HRT (progestin) works to prevent the increased risk of uterine cancer. There is evidence that some women experience unpleasant mood symptoms (such as irritability, depressed mood and anxiety) while receiving hormone replacement therapy (HRT) while taking the progestin / progesterone component of the HRT. This study is designed to evaluate the ability of progestins to produce negative mood symptoms in women. Researchers intend on doing this by comparing the effects of medroxyprogesterone acetate (Provera) and a placebo inactive sugar pill. Patient's moods will be monitered based on their response to questionnaires answered in the outpatient clinic and at home. This research will attempt to answer the following questions: Are progestins associated with changes in mood during hormone replacement therapy? If progestins are associated with mood disturbance, is it because they are blocking the beneficial effects of estrogen?
