Post-traumatic stress disorder is associated with altered processing of sensory stimuli. The clinical phenotype PTSD has predominantly been described for the visual and auditory sensory modalities. However, PTSD symptoms such as intrusive memories are often evoked by olfactory and tactile cues in the environment. Moreover, little is known about whether aberrant responses to social olfactory and tactile stimuli are also present in a subclinical population.The purpose of this study is to compare trauma-exposed subjects (e.g. childhood maltreatment) with non-exposed controls in the processing of olfactory and tactile stimuli. This sensory characterizations hold potential to identify potential biomarkers for the course of trauma-related disorders and to inform trauma therapies focusing on sensory integration.

Context: Since March 2012, several terrorist attacks have been perpetrated in France (Toulouse, Montauban, Paris, Nice ...). In March 2017, 53 french teenagers were victims in a terrorist attack in London (Westminster Bridge). Main goal = to estimate the psycho-traumatic impact and to describe cares and management of high school students, victims of the terrorist attack in London on 2017, March the 22nd. 3 secondary objectives: 1) Clinical (occurrence of Post Traumatic Stress Disorders or other disorders); 2) Epidemiological (risk factors for developing disorders, avoiding care); 3) Preventive and therapeutic.

Primary Hypothesis: Gulf War veterans will have an equal prevalence or mean level of the following medical and psychological conditions frequently reported in the literature compared to a control group of nondeployed veterans: (1) chronic fatigue syndrome, (2) fibromyalgia, (3) post-traumatic stress disorder, (4) neurologic abnormalities, including peripheral neuropathy and cognitive dysfunction, and (5) general health status.

This is a randomised controlled trial designed to investigate the impact of a brief-cognitive task based intervention on intrusive memories, mental health symptoms and daily functioning, in women following an early pregnancy loss.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared in early 2020 the emergence of a new highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus responsible for a global public health emergency. In France, the first cases of contamination have been reported since the end of January 2020, and the first death in mid-February 2020. Then, data published by Public Healh France reported an increasing and rapidly exponential number of contaminations. First cases have been identified on a cluster mode, then rapidly spreading in some French departments and regions, indicating rapid kinetics of virus spread. Given the magnitude of the situation both French territory and neighboring European territories (mainly Italy), the government mobilized the entire health system to critically manage this epidemic. This exceptional and unprecedented pandemic deeply impacted the health structures, disrupting healthcare organizations. All caregivers, including all student nurses, actively participated in the mobilization and strengthening of care teams. The health crisis exposed the population of caregivers to potentially traumatic events which can have major repercussions on their health state. The description and identification of the risk factors of the occurrence of post traumatic stress disorders in student nurses during the health crisis would allow to provide avenues for improving training devices and to facilitate health workers access to specific psychological care particularly dedicated to the student nurses population needs.

It has been shown in the literature that the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder influence the quality of life of patients, in particular through the cognitive alterations they can cause. Social cognition is also itself impacted. It refers to the perception, interpretation and processing of information relating to the social environment and relationships. It is affected by the symptomatology of PTSD both in terms of the response to emotional stimuli, the perception of self and others, and the quality of intimate relationships. These elements lead to reflection on the origin of these alterations, in particular the impact of PTSD on the patient's empathy capacity, defined as the recognition and understanding of the feelings and emotions of another individual. This parameter is also little studied in the literature, only a study dating from 2010 finds a correlation between PTSD and empathy. It is in this context that the realization of a new study studying the capacity for empathy of patients with PTSD in comparison with a control group with a larger and more representative population was envisaged. The primary outcome of this study is to analyze the post-traumatic stress disorder's repercussions on empathy by passing the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) on patients in comparison with a control group. The first hypothesis is a lower total score but a higher personal distress sub-score in the PTSD population. The secondary outcomes are to describe the cofactors that can influence empathy in association or not with post-traumatic stress disorder: sociodemographic data (age, sex, education level…), traumatic event type determined through the "Inventory of Traumatogenic Events", human intervention, duration and severity of the disorder (evaluated by the Impact of Events Scale) … The number of subjects required was calculated at 19 patients and 19 controls.

This study measures biological and psychological processes that might help researchers to better understand what is taking place during low or medium dose and full dose MDMA-assisted psychotherapy treatment in people with PTSD. Heart rate variability (HRV) will be measured up to three times; before and once or twice after receiving MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. Brain activity will be measured before and after MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in response to personalized trauma-related scripts. Participants will complete a measure of self-compassion at baseline and two months after a final experimental treatment session. Therapy techniques observed during recorded treatment sessions will be classified using a standardized clinical measure.

This is a prospective, single-center, pilot, cohort study. The first phase of this study is observational and the usual care of patients is maintained during the ICU stay, except for an interview with a psychologist preceding patient discharge. A phone interview at 2 months and a visit with a psychologist at four months after ICU discharge are specific to the study. The main objective of this study is to make a first estimate of the percentage of patients (CI = +- 10%) with cognitive impairment at four months after ICU discharge. The presence / absence of cognitive impairment will be determined by the D2 test.

This study is a retrospective chart review of recently deployed veterans who served during the Iraq conflicts and were seen at the TVAMC in the outpatient Primary Care outpatient clinic that was recently set-up for newly returning veterans since its inception through July 1, 2005. Identical data will be collected on non-combat veterans that were seen in other primary care clinics at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center during June 2004 and July 1, 2005. This information will be used for comparison with the Iraqi veterans group. The data will be retrieved from a computerized list of these patients. Charts will then be examined to determine sociodemographic, medical, psychiatric, and health care utilization characteristics.

Cognitive profile of patients who suffer both from PTSD and OCD, as compared to those who suffer from PTSD or OCD without other comorbidity.
