A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of GS-6624 (Formerly AB0024) in Patients With Idiopathic...
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisThe study consists of 2 parts: Part A is a randomized, multiple-dose, double-blind, placebo-controlled sequential dose escalation study to evaluate GS-6624 in subjects with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and was completed in October 2011. Part B is a randomized, two-dose, open-label dose expansion study to evaluate GS-6624 in subjects with IPF and is currently enrolling.
Gleevec Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Study
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisLung Disease1 moreThe purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Gleevec (imatinib mesylate) in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Auto-titrating Oxygen in Chronic Respiratory Failure
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseIdiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisLong term oxygen therapy (LTOT) increases the life span of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who have low oxygen levels. However, even when on oxygen therapy at home, from time to time patients still have low oxygen levels especially when walking which can be harmful. The investigators have designed a new system of delivering oxygen to overcome the above problem. The system measures the oxygen saturations of a patient and subsequently adjust the flow of oxygen to meet a pre-set oxygen saturation target. Hypothesis: the investigators intelligent oxygen therapy system is better at reducing low levels of oxygen during a 6 minute walk than usual ambulatory oxygen for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Homecare Integral Support Program for IPF Patients
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisHomecare patient support program especially designed for covering IPF patient needs, implemented for 12 months, for improving quality of life
A Drug-Drug Interaction Study of ENV-101 (Taladegib) on Nintedanib Pharmacokinetics in Healthy Subjects...
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisThe goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the potential effect of ENV-101 (taladegib) on the pharmacokinetics of nintedanib (an approved treatment for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) when the two compounds are dosed together in healthy subjects. Participants in this study will receive ENV-101 and/or nintedanib on various days throughout a 10-day period during which they will reside at the clinical trial site.
Effect of Ambulatory Oxygen on the Walking Test in Patients With Pulmonary Fibrosis
Pulmonary FibrosisPatients with pulmonary fibrosis often desaturate on exercise. There are no data showing whether ambulatory oxygen can be useful to improve exercise capacity in this condition. Ambulatory ambulatory oxygen is often denied to these patients based on studies conducted on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a completely different condition for physiopathology, prognosis, and response to therapy. We therefore planned a controlled study to verify the usefulness of ambulatory oxygen in patients with pulmonary fibrosis
Fibroblast Specific Inhibition of LOXL2 and TGFbeta1 Signaling in Patients With Pulmonary Fibrosis....
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisThis is a two part study. In the first part, the pharmacokinetic profile of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in normal human volunteers given a single oral dose will be determined to set the dose for the second part of the study. In the second part of this study, lung biopsy fragments and urine samples from patients with interstitial lung disease treated with EGCG will be evaluated in biochemical assays and compared to samples from untreated control patients.
Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetic Study of LTI-03 in Healthy Adult Subjects
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisThe current study will investigate the initial safety, tolerability, and PK profile of inhaled LTI-03 in healthy volunteers. In order to minimize exposure, the study will first test single ascending doses (SAD) of LTI-03 followed by multiple ascending dose (MAD) cohorts. Findings from this study will direct the clinical development of LTI-03 for the treatment of IPF The study subject population will include normal healthy male and female volunteers between 18 and 55 years of age (inclusive). Consistent with other trials involving inhaled medication, subjects must have normal pulmonary function at Screening and will be excluded if they have a history of active or recurring allergies, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic sinus drainage, chronic or acute cough or other respiratory condition deemed exclusionary by the Investigator. History of liver dysfunction or elevated bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) or aspartate aminotransferase (AST) values at Screening will also be grounds for exclusion.
Inspiratory Muscle Training in Patients With Interstitial Lung Disease
Interstitial FibrosisPulmonary Disease5 moreThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of inspiratory muscle training program in inspiratory muscle endurance, breathlessness, inspiratory muscle strength, functional capacity and quality of life in patients with interstitial lung disease. Patients are evaluated before the inspiratory muscle training and after 8 weeks of training.

Alzheimer DiseaseLate Onset10 moreSince September 1st, 2009, Taiwan has begun to pay attention to the care of patients with organ failure, dementia and the elderly, and brought eight of non-cancer terminal patients into health insurance subsidies to implement the goal of universal palliative care and local aging. Taiwan has entered the aged society since March 2018, become the heavy burden of expenditure in Taiwan because of the health care needs and costs associated with the rapid aging of the population. With advanced medical technology, when facing inevitable death situation, should not use too much medical treatment on terminally ill patients. The waste of medical resources and bring both patients and family members so much pain. In Taiwan, people have misconception about tranquil palliative care. The low rate of home palliative care for non-terminal cancer patients. The purpose of this study is investigating the eight non-cancer terminal caregivers' knowledge, attitudes and service intentions of palliative care, and getting the result by research intervention. In this study, a randomized experimental research design was applied by two-group pre-and post-test. The targets are the eight non-cancer terminal caregivers in a home care institution of a regional teaching hospital located in Yilan. Targets' ID end with odd numbers are in experimental group received shared mode intervention, and even numbers are in control group received home routine care. The experimental group was implementing measures of weekly shared mode intervention in 20 to 60 minutes for six weeks; the control group started to implement measures of home care medical instructions booklet in the third week. The content of the outcome measurement questionnaire includes: basic information of the eight non-cancer terminal caregivers, the palliative care knowledge scale, the palliative care attitude scale, and palliative care service initiation intention scale. Data were analyzed by statistical methods such as descriptive analysis, independent sample t-test, paired-samples t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and one-way ANOVA.
