Active clinical trials for "Dental Pulp Diseases"

The study will be self-funded by investigator and carried out on patients from outpatient clinic in Pediatric Dentistry and Public Health Department- Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University- Egypt. The procedures will be carried out by postgraduate student Rawda Nader Fathy who has B.D.S. (2011) -Alexandria University- Egypt. The procedures will be carried out on a Knight Midmark Biltmore dental unit (Midmark Corporation 1700 S. Patterson Blvd. Suite 400 Dayton, Ohio 45409, USA) in the post graduate clinic of Pediatric Dentistry and Public Health Department- Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University- Egypt.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical and radiographic success rate of Miniature pulpotomy with Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) in primary molars.

This study is to compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes after guided periapical endodontic surgery versus conventional endodontic surgery.

The human tooth pulp has many nerve fibers and is a common source of pain. This study examines nerve fibers within normal and painful samples and identifies changes that can contribute to the generation of pain.

Advances in digital dentistry coupled with increased demand for aesthetic restorations have led to developments in CAD CAM( Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided manufacturing)systems for manufacturing tooth restorations. CAD CAM restorations have the added benefit of digital impressions which eliminate the need to take conventional impressions, something patients find difficult to tolerate. CAD CAM restorations are now part of routine dental care. However there are no clinical studies evaluating these restorations on root canal treated teeth This study aims to compare the success and survival of root canal treated teeth and/or restoration with varying degrees of tooth structure loss restored using CAD CAM restorations. Null Hypothesis:- The amount of residual coronal dentin has no effect on the survival of root canal treated teeth and/or restoration.

Millions of teeth are saved each year by root canal therapy. Although current treatment modalities offer high levels of success for many conditions, an ideal form of therapy might consist of regenerative approaches in which diseased or necrotic pulp tissues are removed and replaced with healthy pulp tissue in order to revitalize teeth.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of pulp test in teeth presenting with deep periodontal pocket. The null hypothesis is no significant effect of periodontitis on the accuracy of pulp test.

The purpose of this study is to compare the accuracy of different apex locators. Before root canal therapy, dentists use a device called an electronic apex locator (EAL) to measure the root canal and to locate its opening at the tip of the tooth's root (called the apical foramen). A root canal is the space inside the root of a tooth. If the tissue within the root canal becomes infected, dentists may perform root canal therapy.

Anesthetics with vasoconstrictors decrease pulpal blood flow but the impact of intranasal local anesthetics on blood flow is unknown. This blinded, randomized crossover clinical trial will compare the effects of different local anesthetics on anterior teeth in healthy volunteers. On separate study visits patients will receive either traditional injections or intranasal administration of the following solutions: 2% lidocaine with 1:100,000 epi, 3% mepivacaine, tetracaine HCl and oxymetazoline HCl, or saline. The following variables will be assessed: pulpal blood flow, pulpal sensibility, pain on administration, and adverse outcomes.

More accurate management of resorption can be achieved thanks to the three-dimensions volumetric and linear analysis, and the axial classification presented in this study.
