CBD for Chronic Radicular Pain on Chronic Opioid Therapy (COT)

Radiculopathy

This double-blind, placebo-controlled, exploratory trial is designed to compare effects of oral CBD 600mg to placebo (PCB) in 20 outpatients with chronic spinal radiculopathies (without co-occurring Opioid Use Disorder), maintained on stable opioid analgesics for a minimum of 1 month. The trial duration will be approximately 2 weeks (from the point of randomization) of daily CBD 600mg vs placebo. Safety and tolerability of CBD will be assessed throughout the trial. The secondary efficacy outcome is change in pain outcomes from baseline to end of the treatment period at 2-weeks post-randomization/initiation of treatment with a Mixed Model for Repeated Measures (MMRM) statistical analysis performed to assess between group treatment effects of CBD relative to placebo.

Comparison of Two Modes of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) in Chronic Neuropathic...

Neuropathic PainRadiculopathy

This study will compare 2 types of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) to treat chronic neuropathic pain. TENS involves the application of electrical stimulation to the skin via surface electrodes to stimulate nerve fibres for pain relief.

Steroids Versus Gabapentin

SciaticaRadiculopathy

The purpose of this study is to determine whether pharmacotherapy or epidural steroid injections are a better treatment for lumbosacral radicular pain. 142 patients referred to a participating pain clinic with lumbosacral radiculopathy will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive one of two treatments. Half (n=71) of the patients will be allocated to receive an epidural steroid injection (ESI; group I), with an equal number allocated to receive gabapentin (group II). Patients & evaluating physicians will be blinded. Follow-up will be through 3-months after treatment.

Arthroplasty Versus Fusion in Anterior Cervical Surgery: Prospective Study of the Impact on the...

Clinical RadiculopathyMyelopathy Due to a Cervical Disk Disease

The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of the cervical disk surgery on the deterioration of the adjacent levels. The investigators compare the radiological deterioration of adjacent levels, at 3 years, in both situation of fusion and arthroplasty. 220 patients are enrolled and randomized to receive fusion or prosthesis. Radiological and clinical follow-up is organized for a period of 3 years.

Manual Physical Therapy and Exercise for Mechanical Neck Disorders

Neck PainRadiculitis

Mounting evidence does support the combined use of manual physical therapy (MPT)and exercise for patients with cervicogenic headache and mechanical neck pain. However, there is insufficient evidence to assess the effectiveness of MPT and exercise for patients with neck disorders with radicular symptoms. Our purpose for this study was to determine the effectiveness of a manual physical therapy and exercise program as compared to a minimal intervention approach in the treatment of patients with mechanical neck pain, with or without upper extremity symptoms.

Effect of Cervical Collar in Cervical Radicular Pain.

Cervical Radicular Pain

Objectives:The purpose of this study is to determine if use of nech collar (stiff or soft)will improve the possibility to obtain painrelief in patients with cervical radicular pain. We will compare short term (six weeks and three months) and long term ( one year) effect of six weeks use of neck collar (stiff or soft)together with "neck school information" with "neck school information" alone.
