PET-MRI in Diagnosing Patients With Colon or Rectal Cancer

Recurrent Colon CancerRecurrent Rectal Cancer16 more

This pilot clinical trial studies positron emission tomography (PET)-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and PET-computed tomography (CT) as diagnostic imaging in patients with colon and/or rectal cancer. New diagnostic imaging procedures, such as PET-MRI, may help find and diagnose rectal cancer or recurrence of colorectal cancer

Removal Time of Urinary Catheter After Laparoscopic Anterior Resection of the Rectum

Rectum Cancer

Traditionally these catheters are retained for 7 days, because a higher incidence of urinary retention is related to early removal of the urinary catheter. However, recently Enhanced Recovery After Surgery presents that urinary catheters placed via the urethra can be withdrawn 48 hours after colon/rectal surgery in patients receiving epidural pain relief, but there is no clear data on the incidence of urine retention.Longer retaining time of urethral catheter would induce the urinary tract infection while early removal of urethral catheter is considered to develop acute retention of urine due to lack of sensation when the bladder is full. Taking the comfort and mobility for faster rehabilitation of patients into account, the investigators aim at obtain the optimal removal time of urinary catheter after after laparoscopic anterior resection of the rectum

Lateral Lymph Node Dissection for Middle-low Rectal Cancer

Rectal Cancer

The investigators will perform CT three-dimension reconstruction for middle-low rectal cancer patients who have enlarged lateral lymph nodes to recognize the variance of pelvic vessels, by which to help reduce operative time and blood loss, localize the lateral lymph nodes, improve the lymph node harvested and positive rate. Besides, The investigators will label the vessels near the interested node to achieve node-by-node for further investigation.

Developing and Evaluating Product Messaging

Cancer of ColonCancer of Rectum

Purpose: To assess the impact of taxes, warnings, and a combination of taxes and warnings on US adults' decisions to purchase products that contain red meat in an online grocery store. Procedures (methods): Participants will be recruited from Prime Panels (an online panel research company). Following online consent, participants will be assigned to one of four trial arms: 1) Control (no warning and no tax), 2) Warnings (all products that contain red meat have a health warning and environmental warning), 3) Tax (30% tax on products that contain red meat), and 4) Combined warning and tax (all products that contain red meat will have the two warnings and a 30% tax). Then, participant will enter an online grocery store reflecting their assigned arm. The participant will be instructed to complete a shopping task in the online grocery store. After completing the shopping task, participants will be redirected to an online survey and answer a series of questions about the shopping task, labels (excluding tax and control groups), and taxes (excluding warning and control groups). Questions will also include standard demographic and health related variables.
