A Cohort of Predictive Factor of Pathologic Complete Response After Preoperative Neoadjuvant in...
Rectum CancerDue to colorectal cancer is the fourth most common malignancy in the world. Some patients had present locally advance stage and need to preoperative concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT) before radical surgery. But predictor for pathologic complete response (pCR) after preoperative CCRT remain unclear. Objectives: To identify possible factor for predict of pCR of rectal cancer after preoperative CCRT.
Molecular Determinants Affecting Fluoro-L-thymidine (FLT) Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in...
Rectal CancerThe purpose of this study is to determine if positron emission tomography (PET) imaging with an imaging agent called 18F-fluorodeoxythymidine([18F]-FLT) will allow investigators to measure how well tumor(s) respond to treatment without taking a tissue sample (biopsy). Additionally, the investigators want to determine if it is possible to predict how well tumor(s) might respond to treatment with [18F]-FLT PET imaging.
Magnetic Resonance Study of Liver in Chemotherapy
Colon CancerRectal CancerThe purpose of this study is to see whether magnetic resonance (MR) techniques can detect changes caused by chemotherapy in the livers of patients who have been treated for colorectal cancer. Some patients who undergo chemotherapy for colorectal cancer may experience side-effects in their livers. These side effects may influence further treatment options. If this study finds that MR techniques detect changes in the liver due to chemotherapy, then MR methods may eventually be used to help patients and physicians plan further treatment.
A Trial of Pre-Operative Chemoradiotherapy Using Capecitabine, Radiation & Cetuximab, in Rectal...
Colon Rectal Cancer Duke Stage StagevalA Pilot Trial of Pre-Operative Chemoradiotherapy Using Capecitabine (Xelodaâ), External Beam Radiation and Cetuximab (Erbitux®) Followed by Definitive Surgery in Patients With Localized (Non-Metastatic) Rectal Cancer
Measurement of Perioperative Glomerular Filtration Rate
Rectal CancerColon CancerOur objective is to monitor glomerular filtration rate (GFR)during the perioperative phase of patients undergoing robotic surgery for rectum or large bowel cancers. We will use both a single injection and a continuous infusion of iohexol to measure kidney function for 72 hours after surgery.
Engagement of Patients With Advanced Cancer
End of LifeAdvanced Cancer12 moreThe Engagement of Patients with Advanced Cancer is an intervention that utilizes well-trained lay health coaches to engage patients and their families in goals of care and shared decision-making after a diagnosis of advanced cancer. Although lay health workers have never been tested in this role, we hypothesize that lay health workers can feasibly improve goals of care documentation and help to reduce unwanted healthcare utilization at the end of life for Veterans diagnosed with new advanced stages of cancer and those diagnosed with recurrent disease.
MMP-7 Modulation by Short and Long Term Radiotherapy in Rectal Cancer Patients
Rectal CancerTo analyse the effects of radiation therapy on inflammation and matrilysin levels in rectal cancer patients.
Patient-Derived Organoids for Rectal Cancer
Rectum CancerThe purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of establishing patient-derived organoids from pre-treatment rectal adenocarcinoma biopsies.
Short Running Head Obesity in Rectal Cancer Patients
Rectal CancerThere is a controversy regarding the effect of the two Body Mass Index (BMI) extremes on the oncological outcome of rectal cancer. The obesity paradox appears to exist in rectal cancer patients treated with nCRT and surgery, as it was associated with significantly higher rates of pathological complete response and R0 resection. Underweight patients were at higher risk for anastomotic leak and R1 resection.
Development Study of Check-Cap Imaging System in Healthy Volunteers
Colo-rectal CancerTo evaluate the performance of Check-Cap Imaging System in healthy volunteers in a variety of operating scenarios. The Back recorder unit is the primary module for evaluation The participants DO NOT ingest a capsule and the capsules do not have any radioactive source
