Usefulness of Markers to Predict Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation After Radiofrequency Catheter...
Atrial FibrillationCatheter ablation using radiofrequency is a new therapeutic tool to treat atrial fibrillation with a higher success rate than medical therapy (80% versus less than 50% respectively). Because of the length of the intervention and of the risk of complications of the procedure, it would be important to determine success rate before the intervention. The information gained from this study will in all probability improve our estimation of the chances of a successful intervention and may enable us to take necessary therapeutic measures in case of an elevated risk of recurrence. Multiple studies suggest that the 2 markers in this study could provide information of this nature, however, their utility in the radiofrequency catheter ablation treatment of atrial fibrillation has never been demonstrated.
Expression of Markers Related to Mitochondrial Functionality in Carcinoma of the Urinary Bladder:...

Effect of Different Intravenous Fluids on Post-operative Chronic Subdural Hematoma Size and Recurrence...
Chronic Subdural HematomaThis study aims to reduce the recurrence rate of chronic subdural hematomas (CSDH) by manipulating the post-operative intravenous fluid use. The hypothesis relies on the relationship between osmolality and volume changes related to osmolality. We will be administering dextrose 5% in 1/4 normal saline (D5 1/4NS) post-operatively to induce brain expansion which can take up the residual CSDH space, to help reduce recurrence rate.

Head and Neck Squamous Cell CarcinomaRetrospective observational cohort study investigating Single modality Trans Oral Robotic surgery for primary oropharyngeal cancer: exploring the impact of surgical Margins on local disease recurrence.
The Value Of Circulating Tumor Cells In Patient With NSCLC In Postoperative Recurrence Monitoring...
Non-small-cell Lung CarcinomaThe purpose of this study is to assess the value of circulating tumor cells (CTC)for non-small cell lung cancer in the postoperative recurrence monitoring by comparing the CTCs, CT and tumor markers at different time points. The time of CTC and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) detection is baseline, 2~7 days, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, 36 months after the surgery. And the time of CT detection is 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, 36 months after the surgery.
CTCs and Novel Target Bio-marker Analysis for Prediction and Monitoring of Metastasis/Recurrence...
Circulating Tumor CellsCTCDespite the growing public awareness and recent progress in multimodality therapy to the colorectal cancer (CRC), CRC still ranks high on the list of the most common and deadly cancers in Taiwan. The cause of CRC mortality is due mainly to the occurrence of distant metastasis. Several reports suggested that circulating tumor cells (CTCs) highly associated with metastasis suggesting that targeting CTCs may offer an unprecedented opportunity to prevent the development of metastasis. Early detection and characterization of CTCs is therefore important as a potential strategy to monitor the progression of CRC. The current proposal is focused on detecting CTCs from peripheral blood of CRC patients using Miselect R system. We will monitor the amount of CTCs and correlate with CRC progression and prognosis.

Recurrent Pregnancy LossesPositive Anti Phospholipid SyndromePreconceptional use of low molecular weight heparin (enoxaparin) and aspirin in patient with recurrent miscarriages with positive anti phospholipid antibodies increase the implantation rate and the duration of pregnancy with low complications to the mother and the baby.
HPV-test, Cervical Cancer and Follow-up
Human Papilloma VirusUterine Cervical Neoplasms1 moreThe investigators have planned this project to evaluate the follow-up program after surgery due to cervical cancer and to explore the possibilities for different tests of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in contributing to the customization of the follow-up program. Purpose: The investigators effort is to provide the background for an evidence-based update of the follow-up program after surgery due to cervical cancer with the purpose of early diagnosis of recurrence affecting quality of life for as few women as possible.
