Activated Autologous T Cells Against Glioma Cancer Stem Cell Antigens for Patients With Recurrent...

Recurrent Glioblastoma

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of activated T cells (ATCs) to assess the safety and tolerability of autologous activated T cells, as measured by the number of Grade 3 or higher toxicities, the number of serious adverse events, and treatment-related toxicities, according to National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Criteria for Adverse Events (NCI CTCAE) Version 5, to find the maximum tolerated dose. The secondary objectives include evaluating the rate of overall survival, rate of progression-free survival, health-related quality of life parameters, overall response rate, immune response, and tumor stem cell antigen expression.

Effectiveness Study of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccines to Prevent Recurrence of Genital Warts...

Genital Warts

Large genital warts are frequently diagnosed in general gynaecology and oncology clinics in South Africa. Medical and destructive therapy for small warts is generally very effective, however unique problems posed by large or extensive genital warts are not so easily solved and treatment of affected patients remains very challenging. Recurrences are common especially among immune-compromised women. This study will test whether giving the quadrivalent human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine to women with extensive genital warts prior to surgical treatment will improve outcomes. Investigators hypothesize that pre-treatment with HPV vaccine can play a role in the control of both malignant and benign HPV disease in women with and without HIV infection through stimulation of the antibody response. In addition, HPV types and other associated diseases will be studied in women receiving HPV vaccine and placebo.

Study to Check the Efficacy and Safety of Recombinant BCG Vaccine in Prevention of TB Recurrence...

Prevention of TB Recurrence

This is a Phase II/III trial with two groups of adults successfully cured of category 1 pulmonary TB receiving either VPM1002 or placebo. Single dose of VPM1002 / placebo will be administered to calculate efficacy of the vaccine against TB recurrence.

PSMA and C-11 Choline PET in Patients With Biochemical Recurrence of Prostate Cancer

Prostate Cancer

Imaging and staging of prostate cancer is critical for surgical and treatment planning. In this protocol we will image patients with suspected metastatic prostate cancer using 11C-Choline PET and Gallium-68 labeled HBED-CC PSMA (more commonly called 68Ga-PSMA-11) or F-18 labeled PSMA 1007 in order to demonstrate their utility in detecting prostate cancer.

Predictors for Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation After Electrical Cardioversion

Atrial Fibrillation

In patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), electrical cardioversion is very effective in restoring sinus rhythm if modern, biphasic cardioverters are used. However, approximately 50 per cent of the successfully cardioverted patients experience a recurrence of AF within a few weeks. Therefore, valid predictors for AF recurrence would be of great clinical relevance, to avoid unnecessary procedures. In the PRE-ELECTRIC study, we will investigate the predictive value of potential new biomarkers with respect to AF recurrence within 30 days after electrical cardioversion. We will investigate serum and plasma biomarkers, electrocardiological markers and echocardiographic variables in this respect. The study will be undertaken as a prospective cohort study at Bærum Hospital, Vestre Viken Hospital Trust, with national and international collaborators.

Paclitaxel Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Cancer Patients

Solid TumorAdult27 more

The goals of this prospective, observational cohort study are to determine the feasibility of implementing paclitaxel therapeutic drug monitoring for cancer patients and explore the relationship between paclitaxel drug exposure and the development of neuropathic symptoms. This trial studies if paclitaxel can be consistently measured in the blood of patients with solid tumors undergoing paclitaxel treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Nerve damage is one of the most common and severe side effects of paclitaxel. The ability to consistently measure paclitaxel in the blood may allow doctors to control the dose of paclitaxel, so that enough chemotherapy is given to kill the cancer, but the side effect of nerve damage is reduced.

Preoperative Estimation Of Disc Herniation Recurrence In Patients With Lumbar Disc Herniation

Intervertebral Disc Herniation

This study will be conducted at Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (NRITO) n.a. Ya.L.Tsivyan, Novosibirsk, Russia. The current study is prospective observational study to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative estimation of disc herniation recurrence among patients with lumbar disc herniation using predictive mathematical model at terms 3 years postoperatively . It is expected to enroll 350 patients aged 18-70 with lumbar disc herniation. Risk estimation of disc herniation recurrence will be evaluated preoperatively, then patient will undergo conventional microdiscectomy. Postoperative eximanation will include Visits every 6-months during 3 years to evaluate clinical outcomes.

Local Recurrence Due to Rectal Cancer in Sweden

Rectal Neoplasms

The aim of this retrospective national registry study is to validate the reporting of local recurrence in the registry. Another aim is to identify preoperative risk factors for local recurrence. This can in turn indicate the need for a more intense follow-up. The treatment of local recurrence, including the impact of the multidisciplinary team conference (MDT) and the surgical procedure and the referral pathways of local recurrences will also be determined. We aim to evaluate treatment outcome after local recurrence for patients operated or treated between 2007-2018.
