Soft Coagulation for the Prevention of Adenoma Recurrence

Colonic Adenomas

Recurrence after endoscopic mucosal resection of laterally spreading lesions (LSL) >= 20mm in size occurs in approximately 20% of cases at surveillance colonoscopy. We aim to evaluate the efficacy of prophylactic adjuvant thermal ablation of the EMR mucosal defect margin in reducing adenoma recurrence following colonic EMR.

Patent Foramen Ovale Closure or Anticoagulants Versus Antiplatelet Therapy to Prevent Stroke Recurrence...

Ischemic StrokePatent Foramen Ovale2 more

A patent foramen ovale (PFO) is found more frequently in patients with an ischemic stroke than in control subjects. Therapeutic options to prevent stroke recurrence include antiplatelet drugs, oral anticoagulants, and transcatheter closure of the foramen. However, there are no published studies showing convincingly the superiority of any one of these strategies in preventing stroke recurrence. The aim of this randomized clinical trial is to assess whether chronic anticoagulation on the one hand and transcatheter on the other hand are superior to chronic antiplatelet therapy in preventing stroke recurrence.

Adjuvant Melatonin for Prevention of Lung Cancer Recurrence and Mortality

Non Small Cell Lung Cancer

There is evidence to support the use of melatonin, a natural health product, as an additional treatment aid for cancer patients. This study is designed to see if the daily ingestion of 20 milligrams of melatonin for one year can lower the incidence of developing lung cancer recurrence and/or death. Only patients with a diagnosis of non small cell lung cancer who are eligible for surgical resection can participate in the trial. The study will also be assessing for changes in quality of life, pain, fatigue, anxiety, sleep, and depression amongst the participants.

Echo Doppler (ED )Score and D-dimer (DD) Level in the Evaluation of VTE Recurrence After Anticoagulant...

Previous Vka TreatmentPrevious Proximal VTE

The purpose of this trial is to perform a prospective multicentric study to determine predictive ED score and D-dimer level in the evaluation of the thromboembolic event recurrence after anticoagulant treatment cessation. The patients are included in the study from the anticoagulant treatment cessation. An ED score and a blood sample are performed at this time and one month later. Then, the patients are followed up by phone for 2 years.
