ONC201 and Radiation Therapy Before Surgery for the Treatment of Recurrent Glioblastoma

Recurrent GlioblastomaRecurrent Gliosarcoma2 more

This phase I trial studies the effects of ONC201 in combination with standard of care radiation therapy in treating patients with glioblastoma that has come back (recurrent). ONC201 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Radiation therapy uses high energy photons to kill tumors cells and shrink tumors. Giving ONC201 in combination with radiation therapy may help treat patients with recurrent glioblastoma.

Impact of Time to Re-staging Transurethral Resection on Recurrence and Progression Rates

Bladder Cancer

Purpose To investigate the significance of time to re-staging transurethral resection (re-TUR) on recurrence and progression rates in patient with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Methods Patients diagnosed with primary high risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer were included to the study. The patients were randomly seperated into 3 groups acoording to Re-TUR timing. In group 1,2, and 3, the time interval between initial and re-TUR were 14-28 days, 29-42 days, and 43-56 days respectively. Kaplan -meier plots were used to estimate differences in recurrence free survival (RFS) and progression free survival (PFS) rates. Cox regression analysis was used to assess the effect of time from initial TUR to re-TUR on oncological outcomes. Results A total of 109 patients with high risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer were randomly divided into 3 groups. Twenty patients in group 1 (14-28 days), 22 patients in group 2 (29-42 days), and 29 patients in group 3 (43-56 days) completed the study. The mean follow-up was 20 ± 8.9 months. Kaplan-Meier plots showed no differences in RFS and PFS rates between the three groups. Cox regression analysis demonstrated that only tumor number was found to be a prognostic factor on RFS rates. Conclusion Our prospective study demonstrated that time laps from initial TUR to re-TUR did not significantly affect on RFS and PFS rates.

Lenalidomide, Umbralisib, and Ublituximab for the Treatment of Relapsed or Refractory Indolent Non-Hodgkin...

Recurrent B-Cell Non-Hodgkin LymphomaRecurrent Extranodal Marginal Zone Lymphoma of Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue22 more

This phase I trial studies the safety and how effective the combination of ublituximab, umbralisib, and lenalidomide is in certain types of indolent (slow-growing) non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or mantle cell lymphoma. Lenalidomide may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Lenalidomide may also stop the growth of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Umbralisib is designed to block a protein called PI3 kinase in order to stop cancer growth and cause changes in the immune system that may allow the immune system to better act against cancer cells. Ublituximab is an antibody that attaches to the lymphoma cells and triggers immune reactions that may result in the death of the targeted lymphoma cells.

SCUBE-1 and Carotid Intima Media Thickness in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Clinical research will be carried out on two groups of patients. It will be performed on people with recurrent pregnancy loss and without a history of pregnancy loss. In two groups, blood samples will be assessed by elisa test, SCUBE-1 level and carotis intima media thickness will be evaluated by ultrasonographic measurement. It will be investigated whether there is a statistically significant difference between the two groups.A statistically significant difference in SCUBE-1 and carotid intima media thickness known as ischemia markers is expected in the group with recurrent pregnancy loss that could not be explained in the hypothesis of this planned study.

Wee1 Kinase Inhibitor AZD1775 and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Children, Adolescents and...

CNS 2aCNS 2b4 more

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of wee1 kinase inhibitor AZD1775 when given together with fludarabine, cytarabine, and filgrastim (FLAG) combination chemotherapy in treating children, adolescents and young adults with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia. Wee1 kinase inhibitor AZD1775 may help combination chemotherapy work better by making tumor cells more sensitive to the drugs. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fludarabine and cytarabine, may prevent tumor cells from multiplying by damaging their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), which in turn stops the tumor from growing. Giving wee1 kinase inhibitor AZD1775 and FLAG chemotherapy may work better in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia.

Proof of Concept Study to Investigate the Recurrence of Acne Post Isotretinoin

Acne

The use of topical retinoids is a mainstay and basis of early acne treatment to prevent the progression to inflammatory lesions. Post oral isotretinoin, it is not uncommon for non-inflammatory papules and comedones to recur. However, there has been no formal study to look at the prevention of recurrence of these acne lesions post isotretinoin in a long term basis. This may enhance the therapeutic options for post isotretinoin patients in order to prevent recurrence of their disease. Hypothesis Tretinoin microsphere 0.04% will prevent recurrence of acne lesions.
