Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia: Follow-Up
Precursor Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia-LymphomaRecurrenceOver the past decades, advances in treatment have led to an increasing number of children who survive cancer, resulting in a growing population of childhood cancer survivors. After end of cancer treatment on common protocols survivors are enrolled in non-harmonized follow-up programs with frequent visits and blood samples. However, the evidence for the value of these follow-up programs with respect to the effect on detecting relapse and the effects on overall survival is scarce. The aim of the study is to give a comprehensive description of the detection mode of relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), including symptoms and blood test results. Further, we aim to evaluate if the mode of detection affects survival.
The Comprehensive Assessment in Children After Surgical Treatment of Patellar Recurrent Dislocation....
Recurrent Patellar DislocationPatellar InstabilityThe aim of this prospective study is to assess extension apparatus function of the knee based on clinical, radiological, isokinetic and gait analysis data in patients after surgical treatment. There will be used physical examination, Lysholm-Tegner and Kujala scale for clinical assessment. Merchant and lateral X-ray pictures will be analysed for patellar position verification along with isokinetic and gait evaluation to produce conclusions referring to efficacy of the treatment. All subjects included in the study were treated with mpfl reconstruction. Follow-up longer than 2 years in all cases, about 45 patients included.
NerveTrend vs. i-IONM in Prevention of Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve Events During Bilateral Thyroid...
Thyroid DiseasesSurgery1 moreThe aim of this study is to compare two distinct modes of NIM Vital application in thyroid surgery: i-IONM vs. NerveTrend mode with respect to prevalence of early postoperative RLN injury. The hypothesis explored in this study is that NerveTrend mode may be more accurate than conventional i-IONM mode in intraoperative identification of impending neural injury and in prognostication of postoperative glottis function in monitored bilateral thyroid surgery. Hence, NerveTrend mode may be considered a bridge between i-IONM and c-IONM modes, and particularly in health care environments with limited financial resources it can be considered a substantial step forward representing a modern alternative to the c-IONM technique and providing benefits over conventional i-IONM mode. A prospective, randomized study with 2 arms: i-IONM vs. NeveTrend mode (n=132 patients and 264 nerves at risk, each). The primary outcome measure is prevalence of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury (%) on postoperative day 1 assessed by direct laryngoscopy.
Non Transplantable Recurrence After Percutaneous Thermal Ablation of HCC
HCCPercutaneous thermal ablation (PTA), resection and liver transplantation (LT) are the standard curative options for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). LT yields the best long-term outcomes but is limited by graft shortage. Thus, patients with ≤3cm HCC are mainly treated by PTA although recurrence is frequent and may occur outside transplant criteria. However, data on non transplantable recurrence (NTR) following PTA are lacking. Therefore, the investigators investigated the incidence and predictors of NTR among transplantable patients with ≤3cm HCC(s) treated by PTA, in order to stratify them according to their NTR risk and to improve treatment allocation.
Embedded Palliative Care in Managing Symptoms in Participants With Recurrent Stage III-IV Thoracic...
CaregiverMalignant Pleural Neoplasm10 moreThis trial studies how well embedded palliative care works in managing symptoms in participants with stage III-IV thoracic malignancies that has come back and their caregivers. Embedded palliative care may improve distress and anxiety in participants and caregivers.

Gastric or Duodenal UlcersThe purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of long-term administration of lansoprazole (Takepron) for up to 12 months in the routine clinical setting in patients receiving low-dose aspirin
Long-term Use of Takepron on the Prevention of Recurrence of Gastric/Duodenal Ulcer in Patients...
Gastric or Duodenal UlcersThe purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of long-term administration of lansoprazole (Takepron) therapy for up to 12 months in the routine clinical setting in patients receiving oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Adjuvant Therapy With Thalidomide After Curative Resection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Hepatocellular CarcinomaRecurrencePostoperative recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major problem after surgical resection. To date, adjuvant chemotherapy or other adjuvant modalities have not been proven effective in preventing or delaying recurrence. The aim of this prospective randomized study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Thalidomide as a postoperative adjuvant regimen in inhibiting the recurrence of HCC
Study of Calcium Plus Vitamin D Supplementation in Prevention of Colorectal Adenomas Recurrence...
Colorectal AdenomaCalcium plus vitamin D may be effective in the prevention of colorectal adenoma recurrence. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of supplementation with calcium plus vitamin D on the recurrence of colorectal adenomas.
Using mHealth to Aid Opioid Addicts
Opiate Dependency RelapseThe purpose of the proposed study is perform focus groups to identify and prioritize features of the SubAID application (APP). The SubAID APP is smartphone APP being created to support patients self-managing buprenorphine/naloxone (bup/nal) medication. Many people have difficulty in managing bup/nal in the prescribed manner. Not taking medicines in their prescribed manner can cause negative health outcomes. Focus group participants will be asked to elaborate on medication-taking patterns that work best for them, pitfalls associated with poor adherence and offer opinions upon what features/functions the SubAID APP should perform to be most helpful to them. The focus group is designed to remain open-ended and allow free discussion regarding each particular topic that the moderator will bring up.
