Recurrence of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) After Liver Transplantation

Hereditary Haemorrhagic TelangiectasiaLiver Transplant

Liver transplantation (LT) has been proposed as a curative treatment in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) with severe hepatic involvement. The investigating team provides a long-term evaluation of graft status after LT for HHT with a focus on the risk of recurrence. The present study included all patients prospectively followed up after LT for HHT in the Lyon Liver Transplant Unit from 1993 to 2010 with a survival of more than 1 year.

Characteristics and Dynamics of TCR Repertoire in Patients With Hematological Malignancies After...

Hematologic NeoplasmsHematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation2 more

Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD) and relapse, which is mainly due to lack of Graft-versus-Leukemia (GVL), are the most frequent and severe complications of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). T cells expanded from mature T cells in the graft play a dominant role in development of GVHD and GVL early after allo-HSCT. Recent applications of high-throughput sequencing (HTS) to the T cells repertoire open a new avenue for us to look deeply into how these T cells dynamically adjust in the context of the recipient's environment. The main goal of this research study is to set up a mathematical model based on T cell receptor (TCR) sequencing to enable prediction for the key immunologic outcomes early post-transplantation. This study will deepen the understanding of the molecular mechanisms driving the most deadly post-transplantation complications, and serve as convincing evidence upon which to choose a better donor and a more proper transplantation approach. This observational trial will perform HTS for TCR β-chain complementarity determining region 3 (CDR3) repertoires of grafts and peripheral blood samples from recipients post-transplantation and analyze the relationship between dynamics of TCR CDR3 repertoires and clinical outcomes early post-transplantation, especially including GVHD and relapse. The investigators want to know how the antigen environment in recipients drives dynamics of mature T cells from grafts in order to use the new discovered rules to better predict and treat the disease process.

Post-transition Clinical and Socio-professional Future in Adult Patients With Recurrent Multifocal...

Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis

Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO) is a rare autoinflammatory bone disease in children. Studies evaluating the quality of life of patients with CRMO are small and heterogeneous. A better understanding of the impact of the disease on the quality of life of adult patients with CRMO beginning in childhood would allow better long-term management of these patients. Our study aims are to assess the clinical and socio-professional outcomes of adult patients who started CRMO at pediatric age.

Ga-68 PSMA-11 PET/CT in Patients With Biochemical Recurrence of Prostate Cancer: Digital PET/CT...

Prostate Cancer

Ga-68 PSMA-11 PET/CT is known as useful method for localizing recurred tumor lesions in prostate cancer patients with biochemical recurrence [elevated serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) after radical prostatectomy]. The recent digital PET/CT which is known to show better resolution and sensitivity than analogue PET/CT may have better performance for detecting early small recurred tumor lesions. This study is intended to compare the diagnostic performance (detection rate and positive predictive value) of Ga-68 PSMA-11 PET/CT using analogue PET/CT scanner and digital PET/CT scanner in same patients who had biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer.

Specific Preoperative Dynamic Contrast-enhanced MRI Semi-quantitative Markers Can Correlate With...

Glioblastoma

Radiological Markers of vascularity as wash-in rate, washout rate, and capillary time to peak in different single tumour regions were extracted for all glioblastoma patients before being surgically resected from preoperative DCE-MRI. Tissue samples were obtained from different intratumoral regions and peritumoral oedema and evaluated for the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)

Recurrent Nerve Monitoring During Aortic Arch Repair

Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve InjuriesAortic Arch Hypoplasia

Almost half of newborns undergoing surgery to repair narrowing or interruption of the aortic arch will suffer injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve. This causes a weak voice and can lead to problems with feeding including aspiration of milk feed after the surgery. As these children can have a vulnerable circulation, aspiration events can reduce survival and poor weight gain has been shown to correlate with poorer outcomes after surgery. In other types of surgery in the neck, monitors can be used to alert the surgeon to when injury is occurring to the recurrent nerve. To date, this type of monitoring has not been possible in newborns. This study aims to investigate if this type of monitoring is feasible in newborns undergoing aortic arch repair, to prevent recurrent nerve injury.

Clinical Evaluation of Fenestration Decompression Combined With Secondary Curettage for Ameloblastoma...

Cystic Cavity Area Reduction Efficiencythe Recurrence of the Tumor

Objectives: To investigate the outcomes of fenestration decompression combined with secondary curettage (FDSC) in the surgical treatment of jaw ameloblastoma. Methods: Medical records of patients diagnosed as multicystic ameloblastoma (MA) or unicystic ameloblastoma (UA) by routine pathology were collected from January 2010 to December 2017 in Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai JiaoTong University Medical College. Patients were divided into two groups based on the management regimen: FDSC group, and local curettage (LC) group. Patients were followed up for 3-8 years, using panoramic radiography to measure the change of the area of the cystic cavity involved in ameloblastoma and the recurrence or malignant transformation of the tumor in both groups. A total of 233 eligible patients were selected for provisional screening, including 145 patients with MA, and 88 patients with UA.
