Bardoxolone Methyl Evaluation in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease and Type 2 Diabetes
Renal InsufficiencyChronic2 moreThis study assesses the efficacy of bardoxolone methyl relative to placebo in delaying progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and cardiovascular deaths in patients with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and type 2 diabetes receiving standard of care.
A Study in Sepsis Patients With Renal Failure
SepsisBacterial Infections and MycosesThe purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and tolerability of AP in sepsis patients with renal failure and to investigate the effect of AP on inflammatory and clinical parameters in sepsis patients with renal failure.
Extension Study to Evaluate Safety and Tolerability of Peginesatide for Long-Term Treatment of Anemia...
Chronic Renal FailureChronic Kidney Disease1 moreThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the long term safety and tolerability of peginesatide for the maintenance of hemoglobin in participants with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who had received at least 24 weeks of peginesatide treatment in an earlier study.
Evaluate Safety and Pharmacokinetics of Minocin (Minocycline) for Injection in Subjects With Renal...
Renal InsufficiencyAcute3 moreThis is a Phase 1, open-label, single-dose study of the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of Minocin® (minocycline) for injection in subjects with renal insufficiency.
A Phase 1 Study to Assess the Effect of Severe Renal Impairment on the Pharmacokinetics, as Well...
Severe Renal ImpairmentThe purpose of this study is to assess the effect of severe renal impairment on the steady-state PK, as well as safety and tolerability, of ranolazine, compared to subjects with normal renal function.
Hydroxychloroquine in Cardiovascular Disease in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Proof of...
Kidney FailureChronic2 morePresence of multiple traditional and nontraditional risk factors of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease (CVD) including inflammation in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) contribute to high CVD morbidity and mortality in this patient population. Additionally, the traditional approaches towards the therapy of CVD have little impact on CV mortality in these patients. Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) used as anti-inflammatory in rheumatological disorders, has multiple beneficial properties relevant to the process of vascular disease. The effects of HCQ on atherosclerosis (AS) and vascular disease in CKD is not known yet. Thus, the study hypothesis is that HCQ treatment in individuals with CKD will provide clinically significant benefit in the management of CVD and will provide biological and functional atherosclerotic benefits.
Effects of Early Correction of Anemia in Patients With Chronic Renal Insufficiency
AnemiaRenal Failure1 moreThe purpose of the study is to assess the effect of an early and complete correction of anemia after treatment with epoetin alfa on the rate of progression of chronic renal failure (which involves improper functioning of the kidneys). It also assesses the effect of hemoglobin normalization (correction of anemia) on the need for renal (kidney) replacement therapy, quality of life, blood pressure control, hospital admissions, mortality, cardiovascular events, nutritional status and safety.
Fondaparinux as an Anticoagulant in Haemofiltration in Patients With Acute Kidney Failure.
Renal FailureThe purpose of this project is to assess the safety and effectiveness of fondaparinux, a new drug to prevent blood clotting in the continuous dialysis machine used in intensive care patients who have kidney failure.
Effect of Cytokines on Growth of Children With Chronic Kidney Failure
Chronic Renal InsufficiencyChildren with chronic kidney failure often do not grow well. This study examines the possible causes of growth failure in these children and the response to recombinant human growth hormone. The growth hormone-insulin-like growth factor axis will be studied in relation to biochemical and immunological parameters as well as body compositional changes pre- and post recombinant human growth hormone therapy.
Chemical Renal Ethanol Sympatholysis Under CT Guidance Use for the Control of Therapy-Resistant...
Hypertension Resistant to Conventional TherapyKidney Failure1 moreIn this study the investigators are going to assess the feasibility of this innovate technique of renal sympathetic denervation by translumbar access under ct-guidance. To limit the potential impact on the kidney, the investigators chose a population of chronic renal failure patients on dialysis or renal transplant (with native kidneys still present) and having resistant treatment hypertension despite antihypertensive combination therapy well conducted. The investigators expect to obtain a decrease of the blood pressure at the 24-hours ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) one month after the sympathetic denervation.
