Safety and Efficacy of LCP-Tacro™ Once Daily in Stable Renal Transplant Patients Converted From...
Renal FailureThis is 2-armed parallel group, prospective, randomized, open-label, multicenter Phase 3 controlled trial to establish the efficacy and safety of conversion from maintenance immunosuppressive therapy with Prograf® capsules (tacrolimus, Astellas Pharma US, Inc., Deerfield, IL) twice daily to maintenance immunotherapy with LCP Tacro™ tablets (tacrolimus, LifeCycle Pharma A/S, Hoersholm, Denmark) once daily for the prevention of acute allograft rejection in stable adult kidney transplant patients. Patients on a stable dose of Prograf® will be randomly assigned to be converted from Prograf® twice daily to LCP Tacro™ once daily or to remain on maintenance therapy with Prograf® twice daily. Patients entering the study will be treated with assigned study drug and followed for one year for patient survival and the incidence of graft rejection or graft loss.

Bicarbonate and Lipocalin in Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) Study
Systemic Inflammatory Response SyndromeOliguria1 moreThe investigators will determine the feasibility, safety and efficacy of intravenous sodium bicarbonate in reducing progression to overt acute renal failure in patients with the systemic inflammatory response syndrome, and low urine output or early acute renal impairment as defined by serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL).

Effectiveness and Safety of IV Zemplar in Patients on Hemodialysis and With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism...
Secondary HyperparathyroidismRenal Insufficiency4 moreThe purpose of this study is to observe the effectiveness and safety of the use of a low initial dose regime (iPTH/100) in chronic kidney disease patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism (PTH>300pg/mL) and that require dialysis at least 3 times per week.

Study Comparing High Cut-off Haemofiltration With Standard Haemofiltration in Acute Renal Failure...
Kidney FailureAcute1 moreThis trial aims to study the effect of combining continuous and a new polyamide membrane with larger pores in the treatment of critically ill patients with acute renal failure and low blood pressure (shock) requiring noradrenaline. The investigators wish to compare the clinical effect of this new therapy to that of haemofiltration with a standard membrane.

Exercise Intolerance in Renal Failure
Kidney FailureChronicPatients with chronic kidney disease have profound exercise intolerance which contributes to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The investigators have found that chronic kidney disease patients have an exaggerated increase in blood pressure during certain forms of exercise that could certainly contribute to exercise dysfunction as well as cardiovascular risk. The investigators will test the mechanisms underlying this exaggerated blood pressure response, as well as the potential benefits of short-term tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) with folic acid on both exercise dysfunction and cardiovascular risk factors in chronic kidney disease. The investigators will test whether short-term treatment with tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), a cofactor for nitric oxide, together with folic acid improves inflammation, vascular health, and adrenaline levels, both at rest and during exercise in chronic kidney disease.

The PRIMO Study: Paricalcitol Capsules Benefits Renal Failure Induced Cardiac Morbidity in Subjects...
Chronic Kidney DiseaseLeft Ventricular HypertrophyTo evaluate the effects of paricalcitol capsules on cardiac structure and function over 48 weeks in patients with Stage 3/4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) who had left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).

Safety, Pharmacokinetics (PK), And Hematological Activity Of AMD3100 (Plerixafor) In Subjects With...
Renal ImpairmentEligible male and female subjects with renal impairment (aged 18-78 years) and healthy control subjects (aged 35 to 78 years) will be enrolled in the study. Subjects with renal impairment will be enrolled and entered into three groups based on their renal function: Mild Impairment, Moderate Impairment, and Severe Impairment(not requiring dialysis). Control subjects will have normal renal function. The screening visits will occur within 14 days prior to plerixafor administration on study day one. Subjects will be monitored for 10 hours following administration of the study drug. In addition, subjects will return to the clinic at 24 and 48 hours after plerixafor administration for blood samples and safety assessments.

Improved Estimation of GFR by Cystatin C in Preventing Contrast Induced Nephropathy by NAC or Zn...
Chronic Kidney FailureBackground Prevention of contrast media (CM) induced nephropathy (CIN) by pharmacological prophylaxis (e.g. N-acetylcysteine; NAC) is controversially discussed. So far, in all interventional studies assessment of kidney function was based on measurements of serum creatinine although this surrogate biomarker has several limitations. We investigated the antioxidants NAC and zinc (Zn) for the prevention of CIN by monitoring concomitantly serum levels of creatinine and cystatin C.

Efficacy & Safety Study of Recombinant Human Erythropoietin -Alpha, in Patients With Anemia of Chronic...
AnemiaTo establish the efficacy and Safety of rHu-EPO-alpha in patients with anemia of Chronic Renal Failure.

Adaptation Dose of Enoxaparin in Moderate Renal Failure Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome
Acute Coronary SyndromeRenal FailureThe objective of the VALIDE study is to validate that a 25% dose reduction of enoxaparine in patients with moderate renal failure (creatinine clearance between 30 and 50 ml/min) and hospitalized for an acute coronary syndrome provides at steady state a similar anti Xa level in plasma compared to that obtained in patients without renal failure and receiving the usual dose of 1 mg/kg subcutaneously every 12 hours. 140 per - protocol patients are planned to be included.
