Psychological Impact of COVID19 Among Women Undergoing Infertility Treatment

Infertility TreatmentWomen

In France, one couple in eight encounters difficulties to conceive. The diagnosis of infertility frequently leads to symptoms of anxiety and depression. These symptoms appear to be higher than in the general population. Some recent studies have looked at the relationship between anxiety and depression in ART cares. Results are controversial, but it appears that patients with lower levels of anxiety and depression have higher pregnancy rates. Moreover, in couple, women seem to have more symptoms of anxiety and depression than men. First epidemiological studies related to the COVID 19 pandemic have shown strong psychological impact on the general population with an anxiety rate estimated at more than 30%. With COVID 19 pandemic and cessation of ART, it is highly likely that psychic symptoms of anxiety or even depression may have appeared or worsened in women undergoing infertility treatment.

Application of Lactobacillus Salivarius CECT5713 in Infertility of Unknown Origin

AbortionSpontaneous2 more

In this study, we aimed to assess the cervicovaginal environment (pH, Nugent score, soluble immune factors and bacterial profile) in women with reproductive failure because of either repetitive abortion or infertility of unknown origin and compare it to that of healthy fertile women. The second objective was to evaluate the ability of Lactobacillus salivarius CECT5713 to modulate such parameters and to increase pregnancy rates in women with reproductive failure. The administration of L. salivarius CECT5713 (~9 log10 colony-forming units (CFU)/day) for 6 months or until a diagnosis of pregnancy to women with reproductive failure resulted in an overall successful (term) pregnancy rate of 56%.

Health of Frozen Transferred Versus Fresh Transferred Children

InfertilityIVF

In order to give strong recommendation on the efficacy and safety of fresh versus frozen embryo transfer, we conduct this study in order to investigate the physical and mental development of children from fresh versus frozen embryo transfer. Based on our Freeze-only study (Vuong et al., 2018), the women without polycystic ovary syndrome undergoing the first or second IVF were randomly assigned to receive either fresh or frozen embryos on day 3 after oocyte retrieval, which leads to the similarity in characteristics of these two groups. Hence, the result from analysing these offsprings would be preciously valuable.
