Neurological Fate, Prematurity and Genetic Susceptibility Factors

PolymorphismRestriction Fragment Length2 more

This study could help identify aggravating or protective genetic polymorphisms associated with cerebral palsy. Populations of premature babies at different risk of cerebral palsy could thus be individualized with an impact on their monitoring and on the pathophysiological understanding of the processes leading to neurological lesions.

Microbiome Influence on Seminal Quality

InfertilityMale

The microbiome plays an important role in health and in some unknown etiologies. Some previous studies have identified bacteria in semen as a potential factor in male infertility. More studies are needed to discover associations between microbiomes and semen quality. In this study, forty semen samples from donors candidates will be collected where clinical criteria for seminal quality (volume, concentration, motility and morphology) will be measured and bacterial communities examined. With the next-generation sequencing of gene technology and bioinformatic analysis, we can investigate the associations between bacterial communities and seminal quality. It would be interesting to know if the proportion of certain bacteria is significantly higher in samples of normal seminal quality or significantly higher in samples of low seminal quality. This study could contribute to the current understanding of certain etiologies of male fertility.

Follicular Challenge Test to Predict Response to GnRH Agonist Triggering

InfertilityFemale

GnRH agonist triggering is used during ART in order to reduce the risk of OHSS. Some studies described that in up to 5% of the cycles triggered with GnRH agonist, a lack of respone or suboptimal response was displayed. The investigators aim to asses the possibility to predict the respone to ovulation triggering by the response to decapeptyl in the follicular phase of the same cycle.

Effect of Prophylatic Use of Enoxaparin in Women Undergoing in Vitro Fertilization Treatment

InfertilityFemale2 more

Retrospective study designed to evaluate outcomes in patients undergoing assisted reproduction. Some of them had thrombophilia, and part of them was treated with enoxaparin, started on the day of embryo transfer, and the other part not. Women without thrombophilia formed the control group.

International NaProTechnology Evaluation and Surveillance of Treatment for Infertility and Miscarriage...

InfertilityMiscarriage

NaProTechnology (NPT) is a treatment option for infertility or miscarriage that identifies issues in a couple's fertility and fixes them to the extent possible by medical intervention. An important part of NPT is teaching couples to monitor the signs and symptoms of the woman's fertility cycle (menstrual cycle) with the Creighton Model FertilityCare System (CrMS). The purpose of the study is to look at outcomes among couples who consider or get NPT treatment to help them have a live birth. Results from the study will be used to answer questions such as: How many couples who use NPT get pregnant and have a baby? How can NPT treatment be improved? Does NPT treatment have fewer long-term health risks for the resulting children than other fertility treatments? What types of characteristics or environmental exposures influence whether NPT will be successful for a specific couple? To be eligible for the iNEST study, a couple must have a consultation with a NPT-trained clinician who is participating in iNEST.
