Construction of a National Diagnosis and Treatment Quality Control Platform for Major Respiratory...

Quality Control

Build a national diagnosis and treatment quality control platform for major respiratory diseases It will establish and improved a "National diagnosis and Treatment quality control Platform for major respiratory diseases", and form a three-level network of diagnosis and treatment quality control for major respiratory diseases with a three-level system structure of "national, provincial and hospital". Promote standardized diagnosis and treatment techniques for major respiratory diseases Relying on the specialized disease collaboration group or innovative unit model, all-round and hierarchical precision training and teaching are carried out to popularize and promote standardized diagnosis and treatment technology schemes for major respiratory diseases, so as to achieve the homogenization of diagnosis and treatment level for major respiratory diseases.

Povidone Iodine Nasal Application to Prevent Intraoperative Spread of SARS-CoV-2

SARS-CoV-2 Acute Respiratory Disease

The primary aim is to test whether preoperative asepsis with 5% nasal povidone iodine versus no preoperative asepsis with 5% nasal povidone iodine reduces proximal and distal SARS-CoV-2 transmission in operating rooms among patients who are acutely infected with SARS-CoV-2. The secondary aim is to test viral infectivity.

Three-min Step Test and Exercise Desaturation Detection in Chronic Respiratory Insufficiency Patients...

COPDChronic Respiratory Disease

The study project will aim at the evaluation of the occurrence of exercise desaturation phenomenon during two different modalities of exercise (walking and stepping condition). This study will allow determining the sensibility of the 3-minute step test to detect exercise desaturation, in comparison with the gold standard (6-minute walking test). The 3-minute step test could therefore appear as a complementary tool for the evaluation of oxygen desaturation in chronic respiratory disease.

Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis of Domestic Origin

SensitisationMold or Dust Allergy1 more

Exposure to molds in dwellings is a public health problem. Diagnosis of hypersensitivity pneumonitis due to mold exposure at home (domestic HP) are increasing. To perform the serodiagnosis of domestic HP a cohort constitued of proven cases and exposed healthy controls are needed. The HOME HP study aimed at obtaining a cohort of proven cases and exposed controls in order to be able to improve the serodiagnosis of domestic HP.

Breath Analysis and Arterial Stiffness in Patients With Respiratory Diseases

Chronic Respiratory DiseasesCystic Fibrosis5 more

Assessment of cardiovascular disorders using echocardiography and arterial stiffness; comparative noninvasive assessment of volatile organic compound (eVOC) exhale breath patterns in patients with different chronic respiratory diseases with age and gender-matched healthy adults in order to identify a disease-specific exhaled eVOCs profiles and markers of respiratory and cardiovascular disorders.

Measure Airway Compliance by Endobronchial Optical Coherence Tomography

TomographyOptical Coherence3 more

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)is a novel, non-invasive, high resolution special optical imaging techniques. In airway, Measure airway area and airway wall thickness is the most usage of Endobronchial Optical Coherence Tomography (EB-OCT). Recently, the new protocol of EB-OCT is used to measure airway compliance, We will establish a new methodology of EB-OCT for measuring airway compliance, which will provide a new means to study respiratory diseases.

Voice, Dyspnea and Acute Respiratory Failure

Acute Respiratory Diseases

Breathing is an automatic vital function that has the peculiarity of being controllable voluntary for actions other than breathing. Speech production is a characteristic example of use of the respiratory system for nonrespiratory purposes. A healthy respiratory system is necessary for speech to be adequately produced and modulated. In patients with respiratory diseases, it becomes difficult to interfere with an automatic control of breathing that is intensely active to compensate for the respiratory deficience. Speech production is impeded, and, reciprocally, speech can generate dyspnea. This study explores the hypothesis that longitudinal changes in speech characteristics will parallel the clinical evolution of acute respiratory episodes. The aim is to validate such changes as prognostic indicators, in the perspective of future telemedicine applications. The hypothesis tested is that of an association between : vocal abnormalities at inclusion (assessed in relation to known data within a normal population (database of holy subjects already constituted) and the initial clinical severity (assessed according to the usual clinical and gasometric criteria): the evolution of vocal abnormalities during the stay and the clinical evolution.

The Efficacy of the 2023-2024 Updated COVID-19 Vaccines Against COVID-19 Infection

COVID-19Vaccine-Preventable Diseases3 more

The purpose of this research study is to find out how well two different 2023-2024 updated COVID-19 vaccines protect people from COVID-19 (the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus), and to determine if getting a 2023-2024 updated vaccine provides better protection from COVID-19 than not getting a vaccine. If the participant chooses to get a 2023-2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine as part of this study, they will have a 50/50 chance of receiving either the Novavax or Pfizer mRNA vaccine. If the participant decides not to get a 2023-2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine, the participant can still participate in other study activities. STUDY ACTIVITIES: An online enrollment survey An in-person enrollment visit Weekly online surveys for 20 weeks Weekly COVID-19 tests for 20 weeks Additional online surveys if you have COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19. Additional COVID-19 tests if you have COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive. Online survey questions in the middle and at the end of the study

Inspiratory Muscle Training in Patients With COVID-19

Covid19Respiratory Disease

COVID 19 has become a pandemic and has led to high demand on healthcare systems. It can cause a severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS CoV-2) which leads to a long hospital stay, developing important functional damage and making hospital discharge difficult. Elderly, obese and people with chronic diseases are more susceptible to contracting the disease, this profile of patients already has a predisposition for respiratory muscle weakness and in this context, after clinical stability, it is still necessary in a hospital environment to approach respiratory and motor physiotherapy. to optimize the recovery of these patients. Objective: Improved breathing, functionality, exercise capacity and muscle strength in non-critical patients. Method: Prospective randomized clinical study where one group received motor and respiratory physiotherapy and the other group performed the same therapy associated with inspiratory muscle training. Results: The findings will be compared before and after the approach and will be presented in graphs and tables. Statistical tests will be used considering a significance level of 5%.

Collection of Anonymized Samples

HealthyRespiratory Disease1 more

This is a generic sample collection study for collecting blood, stool, rectal swabs, nasal washes, nasopharyngeal aspirates, nasopharyngeal swabs, throat swabs, nasal swabs, and urine from human sources. Subjects will be recruited from BioFire Diagnostics employees and from the general community. Subjects may be asked about recent or ongoing illness at the time of specimen collection and these symptoms will be recorded and attached to the sample. No other identifying information will be collected and the samples will be kept anonymous. The samples may be used internally or by external sites, such as the clinical study sites, for evaluating and determining performance characteristics of in vitro diagnostic devices.
