The Effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Technique for Children With Chronic...

Chronic Respiratory DiseaseCystic Fibrosis1 more

Cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis are the most seen problems in children with chronic pulmonary diseases. İt is a genetic, chronic system disease that reduces life expectancy, and life quality as well. Chronic lung disease , malnutrition, and reduced activity, caused by disease lead to postural disorders. Muscle force, endurance, activity of Daily living are adversely affected. İn the treatment pulmonary rehabilitation are using. Airway clearance technique, pulmonary exercises, upper extremity ergometer, dumbbells, elastic bands, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation technique are applying. Resistance training using elastic bands has become an increasingly common intervention aiming to improve function by increasing muscular strength. İn one study indicated that muscle strength can be improved through three dimensional spiral large scale resistive exercises using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. İn the literature there isn't any research , uses elastic bands with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation for the upper extremity and evaluating pulmonary functions, posture, quality of life, muscle force. The aim of this study is giving exercises programme with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and elastic bands and to evaluate pulmonary muscle force, pulmonary functions, posture, activity of daily living, quality of life, functional capacity. And to evaluate the effect of treatment programme on these parameters. The subjects were divided in two groups. An experimental group three times a week for 12 weeks will perform proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises with elastic bands, and pulmonary exercises. The control group will apply only pulmonary exercises at home programme.

Home-based Respiratory Physiotherapy and Telephone-Based Psychological Support in Severe COVID-19...

Covid19Respiratory Disease1 more

Some COVID-19 survivors may have respiratory and mental health sequelae, especially those who required hospitalization. The investigators hypothesize that the participation of a rehabilitation program composite by home-based respiratory physiotherapy and telephone-based psychological support will improve respiratory function, quality of life, and psychological status in severe COVID-19 patients.

Reconvalescent Plasma/Camostat Mesylate Early in SARS-CoV-2 Q-PCR (COVID-19) Positive High-risk...

Corona Virus InfectionSARS-CoV-2 Infection2 more

This study is a 4-arm, multicenter, randomized, partly double- blind, controlled trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of convalescent serum (CP) or camostat mesylate with control or placebo in adult patients diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 and high risk for moderate/severe COVID-19. The working hypothesis to be tested in the RES-Q-HR study is that the early use of convalescent plasma (CP) or camostat mesylate (Foipan®) reduces the likelihood of disease progression to modified WHO stages 4b-8 in SARS-CoV-2 positive adult patients at high risk of moderate or severe COVID-19 progression. The primary endpoint of the study is the cumulative number of individuals who progressed to or beyond category 4b on the modified WHO (World Health Organization) COVID-19 ordinal scale within 28 days after randomization.

Controlled evaLuation of Angiotensin Receptor Blockers for COVID-19 respIraTorY Disease

Coronavirus Disease 2019COVID-19

The Controlled evaLuation of Angiotensin Receptor Blockers for COVID-19 respIraTorY disease (CLARITY) study is a pragmatic prospective, open-label, randomised controlled trial. CLARITY aims to examine the effectiveness of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) on improving the outcomes of people who tested positive for COVID-19 disease.

The State of Nebulizer Therapy in Russian Federation

SurveyRespiratory Failure1 more

It is known that the inhalation (nebulizer) use of drugs is of great importance in the intensive care of patients with acute and chronic respiratory failure of various origins. Searching PubMed data for the last 5 years (2017-2022) for the keywords "nebulizer therapy" revealed 533 publications, and "mesh nebulizer therapy" - only 25 sources. During the same period, the national database (E-Library) has 75 publications for the keywords "nebulizer therapy", and 4 sources for "mesh nebulizer therapy". It should be noted that almost all publications are devoted to the use of nebulizers for specific diseases and pathological syndromes. There are no works evaluating the adherence of specialists, systemic indications and actually used methods. The aim of trial is to study the current state of the use of nebulizer therapy in medical organizations and identify ways to improve its effectiveness This study is planned to be carried out using a questionnaire using a database based on the Internet electronic survey form.

A System to Classify Treatable Traits in Primary Care

Respiratory DiseaseAsthma1 more

This study proposes an approach to address an urgent unmet need in clinical practice, namely a pragmatic method of establishing what is the cause of a patient's complaint and the next steps to address this problem. In this study, the investigators will compare the proposed classification with current best practice of self-report, spirometry and FeNO. The investigators will compare the two approaches with a gold standard of deep characterisation by 3 separate diagnostic tests. The investigators hypothesize that patients with symptoms of respiratory disease fall into one of four working groups based on accurate knowledge of three parameters, airflow, treatment use and the patient's symptoms.
