This clinical trial is destinated to evaluate if the periodic screening for deep venous thrombosis by ultrasound of lower extremity in patients with intensive care unit (ICU) patients with COVID 19 impacts on mortality, ICU stay and total lenght of stay in the hospital, along with other outcomes.

Despite the availability of standard pneumonia management guidelines and multiple global efforts, pneumonia continues to be the leading killer of children under five, accounting to around 17% of the total under five deaths globally. In Pakistan, pneumonia contributes to 16% of under five mortality in the country having a well-defined yet poorly functional healthcare system. Although, there are standard set of guidelines for management of pneumonia patients however, the management practices of this illness are variable across the country. This could be attributed to non-availability of work ready graduates which in turn is due to variations of teaching methods across various institutions. Although the medical students across these institutions do get exposed to clinical cases in the final year however, this exposure is also variable. If this clinical experience is coupled with an adjunct capacity building mode using an online platform. there is a possibility that students could be trained in a better way.

This study is Observational multi-center, prospective study to characterize novel pathogen- and host-related factors in hospitalized patients and patients in the Emergency Department (ED) presenting with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) and/or sepsis.The Study's objective is to develop a novel multi-parametric diagnostic model for the management of patients with LRTI and/or sepsis that will be based on novel pathogen- and host-related factors.

Patients requiring admission to the hospital due to a moderate and severe COVID-19 infection may differ in their ability to respond to viral infection and to eliminate viral load. Several comorbidities and interventions like antivirotic or antiinflammatory treatment may also modify expected patients response and decrease of viral load. In this observational study, evolution of selected inflammatory markers, indicators of severity of infection and patient characteristics will be followed and recorded in hospitalized patients with COVID-19.

Evaluate the diagnostic and therapeutic role of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in management of patients with lower respiratory tract infection in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit of Assiut University Hospital

Residents in nursing homes for the senior citizens (NH) are at high risk for death from COVID-19. We investigated whether repeated non-mandatory RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 surveillance of NH staff and visitors reduces COVID-19 incidence rates in NH residents and allows to reduce visiting restrictions.

Healthcare workers (HCWs) play a vital role in determining the success of vaccination programs. Patient acceptance and vaccination rely greatly on the utilization and attitude of HCWs towards the vaccine, their attitude also influences patients' adherence to vaccination schedules and their hesitancy. HCWs themselves can be hesitant about a certain vaccine and thus can transfer their negative attitudes to their patients, increasing vaccine hesitancy among the general population. Frontline HCWs are at an increased risk of exposure to COVID-19 due to their direct contact with their patients, working hours, psychological stress and job burnout, they also face stigma. Dental health professionals in particular are at an increased risk due to their occupational hazards that include continuous exposure to body fluids and aerosols, this increases their risk of contracting COVID-19. Therefore vaccinating healthcare workers will be beneficial, not only for themselves, but also for their households and patients.

Capnodynamic monitoring has the potential to offer continuous and non-invasive measurements of heart and lung function in patients requiring ventilation in an intensive care setting. Since mechanical ventilation with full patient synchronization is commonly used in ICU, capnodynamic monitoring can be immediately embedded in clinical care and compared to current methods of monitoring cardiac output, lung volumes and oxygen delivery. This observational study will explore capnodynamic monitoring in mechanically ventilated patients with a range of cardiorespiratory compromise.

In recent years, mycoplasma pneumoniae caused more than 30% of respiratory infections in children in China, among which the detection rate of drug-resistant mycoplasma pneumoniae was higher than 90%. Pediatricians are facing great challenges. In this study, a total of 2312 clinical cases were expected to be collected, including 1160 cases of outpatient respiratory infection including common cold, acute bronchitis and cough after infection, and 1152 cases of hospitalized community-acquired pneumonia, through uniform enrollment in 11 multi-centers for 1 year. Clinical data and respiratory samples were collected and clinical follow-up was completed.To investigate the infection rate and drug resistance gene of mycoplasma pneumoniae in children's respiratory tract infection.To evaluate the effectiveness of azithromycin in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumoniae respiratory infection.The early prediction model of refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae was established.To explore the clinical value of colloidal gold in early diagnosis of mycoplasma pneumoniae infection

The aim of this study is to report our experience with ceftolozane-tazobactam and to evaluate its safety and efficacy in the treatment of ICU dependent nosocomial respiratory tract infections due to extensively drug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Different dosing regimes of ceftalozane-tazobactam is evaluated and compared to the standard therapy of Colomycin.
