Adipokines as Predictors of Foot Function, Pain, and Disability in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis...

Rheumatoid ArthritisHealthy Control

Significant increase in the levels of serum adiponectin, ADA, and hsCRP was reported in all RA patients compared to controls. Compared to patients with early RA, the increase in these markers significantly correlated with disease activity (DAS-ESR), lower f-BMD, radiographic scoring, pain, FFI, and functional limitations in patients with established RA. Adiponectin showed a negative correlation with serum levels of both ADA and hsCRP. By using ROC curve analysis, optimal cut-off values of adiponectin (28.8 µg/ml), ADA (27.3 IU/L), and hsCRP (1.6 mg/L) could be used to estimate early RA in 45 % of the patients. Similarly, using cut-off values of adiponectin (32.8 µg/ml), ADA (26.1 IU/L ml), and hsCRP (2.5 mg/L), established RA could be predicted in 55 % of patients with 98-99% accuracy.

Faecal Analyses in Rheumatoid Arthritis Therapy

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This study evaluates the intestinal microbiome and disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis receiving immunosuppressive therapy. Patients will be analysed at two time points in reference to two predefined primary endpoints: Changes in intestinal microbiome Response to therapy The investigators want to evaluate if successful treatment of rheumatoid arthritis coincide with specific changes in the gut flora.

A Multi-Center Clinical Trial to Determine the Impact of a Mobile Health Application on Rheumatoid...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

The overall goal is to improve shared decision-making (SDM) about treatment options and thereby enhance disease outcomes and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The objective of this study is to engage patients in using the ArthritisPower application on a weekly basis during the time between clinic appointments for collection of data on self-reported disease activity and patient-reported outcomes (PROs), and to display the data using an iPad to the patients and their rheumatology health care providers (HCPs) at the point of care for SDM.

A Study of Abatacept in Participants That Only Recently Started to Develop Rheumatoid Arthritis...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This is a long-term study of Abatacept in participants that only recently started to develop Rheumatoid Arthritis, a chronic inflammatory disorder affecting mainly joints.

Golimumab for Adherence in Rheumatoid Arthritis

ArthritisRheumatoid

The purpose of this study is to determine if non-adherence to Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) drugs in participants treated with biologic disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) is associated with a greater incidence of disease in clinical practice.

Safety of TofAcitinib in Routine Care Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis (STAR-RA)-Cancer Endpoints...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

There are two main aims of this study. First aim is to compare the risk of composite cancer outcomes, between patients treated with tofacitinib and patients treated with TNF inhibitors (TNFi) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) among, 1) "real world evidence (RWE)" cohorts including routine care patient population from the US and, 2) "Randomized controlled trial (RCT) DUPLICATE" cohorts including routine care patient population who meet inclusion and exclusion criteria of the Safety Study Of Tofacitinib Versus Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) Inhibitor In Subjects With Rheumatoid Arthritis ("ORAL Surveillance", NCT02092467) clinical trial. Second aim is to examine the risk of common solid cancers (lung, colorectal, breast, prostate), hematological cancers, and non-melanoma skin cancer as separated endpoints when comparing tofacitinib with TNFi in patients with RA among, 1) "real world evidence (RWE)" cohort including routine care patient population from the US and, 2) "Randomized controlled trial (RCT) DUPLICATE" cohort including routine care patient population who meet inclusion and exclusion criteria of the Safety Study Of Tofacitinib Versus Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) Inhibitor In Subjects With Rheumatoid Arthritis ("ORAL Surveillance", NCT02092467) clinical trial.

Seroprevalence Study of CoV-2-SARS (COVID-19) Infection in Patients With Chronic Inflammatory Rheumatic...

COVID-19SARS-CoV Infection4 more

The prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases has not yet been widely reported, and has been evaluated only in symptomatic patient samples. The proportion of asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients is unknown, in patients who share common symptoms with CoV-2-SARS infection. Our objective is to describe the prevalence of seroconversion to CoV-2-SARS by consecutive screening in routine care of patients with chronic inflammatory rheumatism with serological testing

Impact of a Hybrid Medical Care Model in the Rheumatoid Arthritis Patient-reported-outcomes Measures...

Rheumatoid ArthritisTelehealth

The COVID-19 outbreak has affected health care of patients with rheumatic diseases; telemedicine might help to assist patients. The primary objective is to determine if a hybrid medical care model, which consists of alternating face-to-face medical visits and video medical consultations, is not inferior, in terms of the Patient Reported Outcomes measures (PROMs), to the face-to-face medical care model, among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) outpatients. We also aim to investigate if adherence to RA-related treatment (considered a surrogate of patient´s education) might be improved when patients are re-integrated to the health care system, irrespective of the health care model. In Mexico, COVID-19 pandemic still uncontrolled. Our Institution provides health care to 1500 RA patients/year and up to August 2020, it is estimated that 500 RA patients might be affected, which is our target audience. Reinstalling institutional health care provision is challenging. This a non-inferiority, cross-over study, with 2 intervention arms. Patients will be randomized to 1. Six months of usual medical care model, followed by 4 months of a control period, and 6 months of hybrid medical care model, or 2. Six months of hybrid medical care model, followed by 4 months of a control period, and 6 months of usual medical care model. The following PROMs will be assessed at specific time points: disease activity/disease severity (RAPID-3), disability (HAQ-DI), quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF), patient satisfaction with the medical care model (questionnaire locally developed), patient´s adherence to medical care (missed scheduled visits) and patient´s adherence to RA-related treatment (the Compliance-Questionnaire).

Safety and Retention Rate of the JAK and TNF Inhibitors in Rheumatoid Arthritis: a Real-life Experience...

Rheumatoid ArthritisDrug Use

This study aims to extract data from the Hong Kong Biologics Registry for retention rate of the JAK inhibitors in rheumatoid arthritis and review other adverse events by looking at the medical record retrospectively. These real life data are important as they cannot be provided by randomized controlled trials which are limited by the duration of observation and fixed protocols in research settings. Moreover, data will represent our local experience of the JAK inhibitors in Chinese patients with RA. The retention rate and adverse effects of the JAK inhibitors are compared with conventional TNF inhibitors.
