Rotator Cuff: Does the Vascularity Matter and the Role for PINPOINT
Rotator Cuff TearThe overall goal of doing this study is to improve long term patient function and outcomes in the healing rates of Rotator Cuffs. The investigators would also like to see if this method can be more cost effective and time efficient for Rotator Cuff evaluation during arthroscopy.
Clinical Study on Mesenchymal Stem Cells Used in the Reconstruction Surgery of the Supraspinatus...
Rotator Cuff TearThe prospective randomized clinical study investigating the effect of mesenchymal stem cells on tendon healing. The objective of the study is to demonstrate the effect of concentrated bone marrow stem cells ( MSCs ) to the healing of sutured tendon of the supraspinatus muscle in comparison to the same procedure performed without MSCs. We have postulated the hypothesis that MSCs enhance the healing of the sutured supraspinatus tendon to its humeral footprint.
Micro-Fragmented Adipose Tissue (Lipogems®) Injection for Chronic Shoulder Pain in Persons With...
Shoulder PainShoulder Impingement Syndrome4 moreRotator cuff disease (i.e., rotator cuff tendinopathy or tear) is a common cause of shoulder pain in persons with chronic spinal cord injury (SCI). It usually resolves with non-operative treatments such as pharmacological agents and physical therapy; however, when this fails, rotator cuff surgery may be the only option. Autologous adipose tissue injection has recently emerged as a promising new treatment for joint pain and soft tissue injury. Adipose can be used to provide cushioning and filling of structural defects and has been shown to have an abundance of bioactive elements and regenerative perivascular cells (pericytes). The purpose of this study is to explore the safety and efficacy of autologous, micro-fragmented adipose tissue (Lipogems®) injection under ultrasound guidance for chronic shoulder pain in persons with SCI.
Efficacy of Intra-articular NSAID Versus Corticosteroid in the Treatment of Shoulder and Knee Conditions:...
Knee ArthritisShoulder Arthritis4 moreThe proposed study will compare the efficacy of Triamcinolone versus Ketorolac for intra-articular injection of the knee and shoulder
Suprascapular Nerve Block Efficacy for Shoulder Surgery
Shoulder PainPostoperative Pain4 moreThis study evaluates the analgesia induced by suprascapular nerve block in comparison to interscalene nerve block in arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs. The experimental and the control group will receive the suprascapular nerve block and interscalene nerve block, respectively.
Physiotherapy for Patients Awaiting Rotator Cuff Repair
Rotator Cuff TearsPOWER is a pragmatic multi-centre, external pilot randomised controlled trial with feasibility objectives using a parallel group design with 1:1 allocation ratio and integrated qualitative study. The study aims to answer the question: In adult patients diagnosed with tears of the rotator cuff and awaiting elective surgical repair, is it feasible to conduct a future, fully powered, multi-site RCT to test the hypothesis that physiotherapist-led exercise is superior to waiting-list control in terms of clinical and cost-effectiveness?
MDR SureLock All-Suture Anchor
Shoulder PainShoulder Injuries5 moreTo report the outcomes of a series of patients with recurrent anterior and/or posterior shoulder instability who underwent surgical repair of the affected labrum using the SureLock all-suture anchor.
Efficacy of Electrotherapy in Subacromial Impingement Syndrome
Shoulder Impingement SyndromeThe purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of electrotherapy as a coadjuvant in mobility and exercise treatment in the reduction of pain intensity in subacromial impingement syndrome.
Subacromial Decompression Versus Subacromial Bursectomy for Patients With Rotator Cuff Tendinosis...
TendinosisShoulder Impingement SyndromeThe purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of arthroscopic subacromial decompression (acromioplasty) to arthroscopic subacromial bursectomy (no acromioplasty) in rotator cuff impingement syndrome. The investigators' hypothesis is that arthroscopic subacromial decompression provides no additional benefit, as evaluated with disease specific quality of life measures, compared to arthroscopic bursectomy.
