Study of 2 Doses of Oral Live Attenuated Human Rotavirus (HRV) Vaccine for the Prophylaxis of Rotavirus...

InfectionsRotavirus

Rotavirus (RV) is the most important cause of acute gastroenteritis (GE) requiring the hospitalization of infants and young children in developed and developing countries and can be a frequent cause of death in children less than 5 years of age (estimated nearly 500,000 annual deaths worldwide). GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Biologicals has developed a vaccine against human rotavirus gastroenteritis. This study will provide data for Korean regulatory authorities about the immunogenicity and safety of this vaccine in Korean children aged 2 months at the time of the first dose.

Study to Assess the Efficacy, Immunogenicity and Safety of Liquid Human Rotavirus Vaccine, in Healthy...

InfectionsRotavirus

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy, immunogenicity and safety of GSK Biologicals' liquid human rotavirus vaccine in healthy Chinese infants 6 to 16 weeks of age.

RotaTeq® and Meningococcus C Vaccine in Healthy Infants (V260-016)

MeningitisMeningococcal1 more

Primary objective: To check if RotaTeq® can be administered concomitantly with meningococcal Group C vaccine without impairing the efficacy of MCC vaccine. The hypothesis tested is that the seroprotection rate for MMC at 28 days after the second MCC vaccination with concomitant administration of RotaTeq® is non-inferior to that without non-concomitant (sequential) administration of RotaTeq®.

Vaccine Efficacy Against Rotavirus Diarrhea; Vaccine Given With Routine Childhood Vaccinations in...

InfectionsRotavirus

The primary objective of this study is to determine if the GSK Biologicals' human rotavirus (HRV) vaccine (pooled HRV groups) given concomitantly with routine expanded program on immunisation (EPI) vaccinations can prevent severe rotavirus gastroenteritis (≥11 on the 20-point Vesikari scoring system [Ruuska, 1990]) caused by the circulating wild-type RV strains during the period from 2 weeks after the last dose of HRV vaccine or placebo until Visit 5. The primary objective will be reached if the lower limit of the 95% confidence interval (CI) on vaccine efficacy is >0%. The Protocol Posting has been updated in order to comply with the FDA Amendment Act, Sep 2007.

Long-term Efficacy and Safety of Subjects Approximately 3 Years After Priming With 2 Doses of GSK...

InfectionsRotavirus

To assess the long-term efficacy and safety of the subjects during the third year after priming with 2 doses of GSK Biologicals' oral live attenuated HRV vaccine (Rotarix) in the primary vaccination study (102247). The Rotarix vaccine was administered in the primary vaccination study. There was no vaccine/intervention in this long-term efficacy study.

Prophylactic Antipyretic Treatment in Children Receiving Pneumococcal Conjugate and Standard Infant...

InfectionsRotavirus

The purpose of this trial is to assess if the rate of febrile reactions following the co-administration of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines with standard infant vaccines is lowered when paracetamol is given prophylactically.

Year 3 Extension for Efficacy Follow-up in Subjects Vaccinated in Studies Rota-028, 029 or 030 (NCT00197210)...

InfectionsRotavirus

This Year 3 extension of the main study rota-028, 029 or 030 is conducted to evaluate vaccine efficacy against severe rotavirus (RV) gastroenteritis (GE) during third year of life in infants previously vaccinated with human rotavirus (HRV) vaccine or placebo in the following schedules: at 3 and 4 months of age in study rota-028; at 2 and 4 months of age in study rota-029 or rota-030. The Protocol Posting has been updated in order to comply with the FDA Amendment Act, Sep 2007.
