Repetitive Thoughts in Fibromyalgia: Impact of Rumination on the Emotional and Cognitive Dimensions...

Fibromyalgia

Dysfunctional chronic diffuse pain syndrome, concerning 2% of the French population, Fibromyalgia (FM) is classified either as a psychological disease or as a somatic disease. This dichotomous reasoning does not lead to a better understanding and does not allow the use or development of new psychological tools of care. The issue of the proximity between FM and depression highlighted by some authors and the presence of anxious comorbidities may arise at a different level, that of the transdiagnostic approach. Rumination is one of these transdiagnostic processes that are the subject of recent studies and one of the dimensions of which (abstract analytical rumination) is at work in depression and a number of psychopathologies. The investigator therefore wishes to explore the process of rumination and its abstract analytical dimension in FM and to explore its link with the depressive and anxious manifestations frequently associated with this disorder.

Neural Predictors of Social Emotion Regulation Training

EmotionsRumination

The purpose of this study is to investigate the basic psychological and neural mechanisms underlying the social regulation of emotion - that is, how one person's actions can impact, or regulate - the emotions of another person - and how this ability changes with practice. As such, this study is not designed to directly address clinical health outcomes and provide no treatment or intervention.

Effects of tDCS Combined With VR on Anxious Ruminations in Healthy Subjects With a Vulnerability...

Rumination

This study proposes: to evaluate 1) whether the combination of virtual reality (VR) and active tDCS provides better rumination attenuation than the combination of VR and tDCS placebo 2) the acceptability and experiential experience of combining these two well known medical devices.

Loneliness During the NPIs for the COVID-19 Pandemic in Norway: Risk Factors and Associations With...

LonelinessWorry4 more

The present study of loneliness during the COVID-19-related NPIs is part of a larger project aiming to investigate psychological reactions and symptoms associated with the current and ongoing governmental initiatives in place in Norway. The results will lead to a better understanding of the psychological effects on quarantine on the population and consequently will be relevant for the development of tailored prevention and intervention programs fit for pandemic crises. Objectives Investigate the levels of loneliness in a general population during the strict social distancing government-initiated non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) for the COVID-19 pandemic. Investigate risk and resilience factors for loneliness and the associations between loneliness and psychopathology symptoms during the NPIs. Aims Inform the general public, policy makers, scientists, and health practitioners about the associations of the NPIs with the mental health problem of loneliness and its potential effect on psychopathology. Provide a foundation for policymakers and health-care professionals to employ interventions that protect the general public against increased psychological suffering and dysfunction during society's handling of pandemics.

Turkish Cultural Adaptation, Validity and Reliability of the "Physical Activity-Specific Rumination...

ChildrenOnly2 more

Anxiety that turns into an over-generalized and repetitive form is called rumination. When the literature was reviewed, rumination was found to be associated with depression and anxiety, but its applicability to physical activity (PA) behaviors has been largely overlooked. Only a few studies have examined the relationship between rumination and PA behaviors. The study was designed with the aim of determining the Turkish cultural adaptation, validity and reliability of the "Physical Activity-Specific Rumination Scale for Children (PARS-C)" questionnaire developed for children in England in order to determine the intrinsic factors affecting participation in PA.
