Imaging Study of 3D-CBCT Sialography and MRI Sialography in Non Tumor Salivary Diseases
Non Tumor Salivary Gland Diseases of the Parotid GlandsNon Tumor Salivary Gland Diseases of the Submandibular GlandsNon tumor salivary gland diseases are common and include sialadenitis, sialadenosis, stones, stricture and ductal dilatation, anatomical abnormalities. A radiological examination is required in order to sign the diagnosis, locate precisely the lesions and define the therapeutic strategy. Cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT), because of its accessibility and the possibilities it offers in terms of image processing, is a potential alternative to the conventional sialography and to the MRI sialography, considered as a gold standard procedure. Our comparative study, aims to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the 3D-CBCT sialography compared to MRI sialography, in patients with non tumor ductal salivary diseases.

Salivary Evaluation in Healthy Volunteers
HealthySalivary Gland DiseaseSaliva is critical in maintaining oral health and comfort. Our laboratory has investigated several disorders of salivary glands. The purpose of this protocol is to obtain data from healthy volunteers for comparison with data from patients with salivary dysfunction. We plan to utilize the NIH Clinical Center Clinical Research Volunteer Program to solicit paid participation from healthy adults. Study procedures are accomplished in 2-3 outpatient visits that include an interview, saliva collection, lip biopsy, clinical laboratory studies, dry eye examination, and lip biopsy follow up, as needed. These are routine diagnostic procedures. Biopsy specimens may be used in clinical and laboratory studies, such as in vitro biochemical analysis or in vivo transplantation. Some of the Healthy Volunteers may be asked to participate in an MRI study of the salivary glands.

Color Doppler and Mri Diffusion in Major Salivary Gland Masses
Salivary Gland DiseasesThis study intend to evaluate the combined value of ADC and COLOR DOPPLER in differentiating benign and malignant salivary gland tumors in comparison to histopathological findings and its use in preoperative prediction of benign and malignant masses.
