Brostallicin in Treating Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorSarcoma

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of brostallicin in treating patients who have locally advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma that has not responded to one previous chemotherapy regimen.

Vorinostat and Bortezomib in Treating Patients With Advanced Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Recurrent Adult Soft Tissue SarcomaStage III Adult Soft Tissue Sarcoma1 more

This phase II trial is studying how well giving vorinostat together with bortezomib works in treating patients with advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Vorinostat and bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving vorinostat together with bortezomib may kill more tumor cells.

Topotecan in Treating Patients With Gynecologic Cancer That Cannot Be Removed by Surgery

Cervical CancerEndometrial Cancer5 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as topotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of topotecan in treating patients with gynecologic cancer that cannot be removed by surgery.

Sorafenib in Treating Patients With Advanced or Recurrent Uterine Cancer

Recurrent Uterine SarcomaStage III Uterine Sarcoma2 more

Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. This phase II trial is studying how well sorafenib works in treating patients with advanced or recurrent uterine cancer.

Safety and Efficacy Study Using Rexin-G for Sarcoma

Sarcoma

Rexin-G is a tumor-targeted (pathotropic or disease-seeking) nanoparticle that when injected intravenously, seeks out and accumulates in cancerous lesions, thus enhancing local drug concentration within tumors. The goal of the adaptive trial design is to confirm the over-all safety of Rexin-G and to determine the optimal dosing regimen for Rexin-G that would document the significant clinical benefits required to support a Phase II registration protocol.

Flavopiridol in Treating Patients With Recurrent, Locally Advanced, or Metastatic Soft Tissue Sarcoma...

Sarcoma

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of flavopiridol in treating patients who have recurrent, locally advanced, or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.

Doxorubicin Plus External-Beam Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Sarcoma

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of doxorubicin plus external-beam radiation therapy in treating patients who have soft tissue sarcoma.

Radiation Therapy Plus Doxorubicin in Treating Patients With Resectable Primary or Recurrent Retroperitoneal...

Sarcoma

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy plus doxorubicin in treating patients who have resectable primary or recurrent peritoneal soft tissue sarcoma.

17-N-Allylamino-17-Demethoxygeldanamycin in Treating Patients With Advanced Epithelial Cancer, Malignant...

AIDS-related Peripheral/Systemic LymphomaAIDS-related Primary CNS Lymphoma52 more

Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of 17-N-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin in treating patients with advanced epithelial cancer, malignant lymphoma, or sarcoma

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Rhabdomyosarcoma

Adult Malignant MesenchymomaAdult Rhabdomyosarcoma9 more

This randomized phase III trial is comparing two different combination chemotherapy regimens to see how well each works in treating patients with previously untreated rhabdomyosarcoma or sarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as dactinomycin, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and topotecan, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating rhabdomyosarcoma.
