COVID Booster in Pregnancy and Lactation
COVID-19This is a prospective longitudinal cohort study to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 vaccination and booster on maternal and infant immunity against COVID-19 variants over time.
Sequelae of Sars-CoV-2 Infections
Lung DiseasesCardiac Disease1 moreBy the end of 2019 a new coronavirus, named SARS-CoV-2, was discovered in patients with pneumonia in Wuhan, China. In the following weeks and months the virus spread globally, having a tremendous impact on global health and economy. To date, no vaccine or therapy is available. Severe courses of the infection not only affect the lungs, but also other organs like the heart, kidney, or liver. The lack of preexisting immunity might at least partially explain the affection of extra pulmonary organs not yet seen in infections due to other respiratory viruses. In this observational investigation the study group will follow up on patients that have been hospitalized due to a SARS-CoV-2 infection, and monitor sequelae in various organs, with an emphasis on the pulmo-cardiovascular system. Our that in some patients, organ damage will persist and require long-term medical care.
Determinants of SARS-COV2 (COVID-19) Persistence After Convalescence
COVID-19Corona Virus Infection1 moreThe 2019-2020 COVID-19 pandemic is the largest outbreak in recent history. It is not known how long after someone gets sick with COVID-19 and recovers that they can still infect other people. It is also not known how quickly people make antibodies against the virus, which help clear infection from the body. The investigators will enroll 300 people who had COVID-19 based on lab testing or confirmed exposure to participate. An additional 25 participants who have never tested positive for COVID and have not had the vaccine will be enrolled as negative controls. Participants will complete a survey at enrollment. The investigators will also collect blood, nose swab, saliva, stool, semen, and breast milk to test for the virus. The investigators will ask participants to complete a survey and give specimens up to 12 times over 24 months. This information will be used to study how long the virus can live in different parts of the body, antibody development, and post-infectious complications. The investigators hope that this information will allow medical and public health providers to make recommendations to better care for patients in the convalescent phase of COVID-19 infection.
Changes in Out-patient Visits in Taiwan During the Time of Global COVID-19 Pandemic
Patient PreferenceThe COVID-19 pandemic becomes a global challenge. This study aims to analyze the possible changes in out-patient visits during the time of COVID-19 pandemic between January and June, 2020, compared with the same period in 2019, and the impact of the related healthy policies.
The Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Patients and Survivors
COVID-19 InfectionHematopoietic and Lymphoid Cell Neoplasm1 moreThe study investigates how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the psychological, financial, physical, and social well-being of adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients and survivors. AYA cancer survivors have inferior long-term survival compared to the general population, and the negative impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic may be even higher in this vulnerable group. The information gained from this study may provide an opportunity to determine the self-reported COVID-19 specific psychological distress in AYA cancer survivors, and may lead to the development of a targeted intervention to improve physical and psychosocial health for AYA cancer patients and survivors.
Genetic Bases of COVID-19 Clinical Variability
COVID-19GEN-COVID multicenter study aims to identify the genetic variants of the host genome responsible for the clinical variability of patients with COVID-19. This variability to date is only partially related to the age and comorbidities of patients. The primary objective of the study is therefore to identify genetic variants associated with the severity of the disease, while the secondary objective consists in the identification of variants associated with longitudinal disease trajectories. This is a laboratory study that involves the conduct of genetic investigations, including whole exome sequencing and genome wide association studies, on human biological material from patients affected by COVID-19. Clinical information useful to describe the level of disease severity will be also collected for each enrolled patient. A total of at least 2,000 COVID-19 patients is expected to be included.
A Phase 2 Study of RTB101 as COVID-19 Post-Exposure Prophylaxis in Older Adults
Covid19The proposed trial will obtain preliminary data on the feasibility of studying RTB101 as compared to placebo for COVID-19 post-exposure prophylaxis in adults age ≥ 65 years to inform the design of a subsequent pivotal trial.
Lung Structure-Function In SurVivors of Mild and SEvere COVID-19 Infection: 129Xe MRI
COVID-19 Respiratory InfectionIn this study the Investigators aim to deploy UTE and HP 129Xe MRI for structural and functional evaluation of persistent lung abnormalities in COVID-19 survivors.
Impact of COVID19 on Asthma
AsthmaCovid19The COVID19 pandemic is having an immeasurable impact on the economy and on morbidity and mortality. Knowledge and scientific evidence about this disease is advancing rapidly, but it is not yet known whether asthmatic patients suffering from COVID19 have an exacerbation of asthma, or whether this viral infection has an impact on control and lung function in the short to medium term. The aim of this study is to define the changes that occur in these two parameters in asthmatic patients suffering from COVID19. To this end, asthmatic patients who have suffered a SARS-CoV-2 infection and who have required an emergency consultation or hospitalisation will be collected in a pneumology consultation and matched by age, sex and severity of asthma with a group that has not suffered the same. Both will be followed for one year, and lung function will be tested at six months and exacerbations and changes in ACT during the following year. These data are intended to improve the available knowledge on the impact of IDVC19 on asthma patients with a view to making appropriate recommendations, prevention and treatment adjustments in line with the results obtained.
COVID-19 Biological Samples Collection
Infection ViralThe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak is now considered as a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization. In the context of the health emergency, research on the pathogen (the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus), the disease and the therapeutic care is being organized. Research projects require the use of biological samples. This study aims at setting up a collection of biological samples intended for application projects in any discipline. The main objective of the study is to collect, process and store biological samples from patients and caregivers infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) at the biological ressources center of the Bordeaux University Hospital.
