Investigation of Stress Levels and Lifestyle of a Sample of Greek General Surgeons in Covid-19
StressPsychological5 moreA new pandemic appeared in early 2020, also known as the coronavirus (Covid-19), affecting all health systems worldwide. Medical and nursing staff make every effort to treat patients resulting in physical and psychological exhaustion, which is exacerbated by the lack of medical and nursing staff, the lack of protective equipment, the increased workload, and increased shifts. In this context, the surgeons had to contribute in turn, in order to help as much as they could in dealing with this new health crisis, as a result of which they find themselves in positions that are not on their subject or in their proper training and to handle patients with a dangerous and highly aggressive respiratory infection. This brought more psychological and physical stress to the surgeons. The pandemic of Covid-19 is not known to be a purely surgical condition, but many patients with coronavirus require surgery due to an additional infection, condition, or complication. The design of this research will be observational and quantitative. Quantitative design involves the provision of numerically coded and analytical measurements, such as self-report questionnaires. The purpose of this cross-sectional research is primarily to record the levels of stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms of Greek surgeons, and their lifestyle. Secondary to correlate the stress levels with socio-demographic data and their lifestyle with other parameters of the study.
Caracterisation of COVID-19 Patients Hospitalized in Infectious Disease Department
Covid19SARS-CoV InfectionThe main objective of this cohort is to characterize COVID-19 patients hospitalized in infectious disease department. The collection of clinical and biological data from start of hospitalization to long-term follow up will contribute to a better description of the patient care, to the identification of predisposition to complication related to the disease, and to the evaluation of the impact of different therapeutical strategies.
Presepsin Biomarker for Ventilator-associated Pneumonia Diagnosis in COVID-19 Patients
Ventilator Associated PneumoniaCovid19This study is observational and double blind. It evaluates the validity of presepsin (a serum biomarker of bacterial infections) as early biomarker of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia. It will be measured at day 0 (ICU admission) and every 48 hours in every patient with Sars-Cov 2 interstitial pneumonia requiring invasive mechanical ventilation (see inclusion ad exclusion criteria) until Day 30, ICU discharge or ICU death. There will be no change in clinical practice and in pneumonia diagnosis. We will examine how the elevation of presepsin level could be an early marker of ventilator associated pneumonia or a marker of bacterial pneumonia at ICU admission, before the microbiological results or clinical diagnosis.

Monitoring of COVID-19 Vaccine Response in Organ Transplant Patients
Covid19Kidney TransplantationVaccination against SARS CoV-2 appears to be the best strategy today to control the COVID-19 pandemic. The first published studies with Pfizer, Moderna and Astra-Zeneca vaccines show very good vaccine protection in the general population and good short-term tolerance. The efficacy of these vaccines ranges from 62 to 95%, which is particularly remarkable, especially for mRNA vaccines. Nevertheless, these studies do not report the vaccine response in organ transplant patients. It is known that transplant patients have lower vaccine responses than immunocompetent patients due to some degree of immunosuppression. Therefore, the investigators are interested in evaluating the vaccine response of organ transplant recipients after vaccination against SARS- CoV-2. For non-responder patients, new strategies can be proposed: 3rd or 4th boost of vaccine or perfusion/injection of antiS monoclonal antibodies. These strategies must be evaluated.
