The goal of this study is to test the efficacy of a mealtime intervention in respite care centers for people with dementia and their caregivers. Mealtimes become more challenging as dementia progresses causing nutritional and behavioral issues in the affected individuals. Using a train-the-trainer program built on the Partners at Meals model, volunteers in respite centers partner with caregivers and develop a mealtime plan that builds on the strengths of the person with dementia, and develop a supportive environment for change. A tele-health component is involved in the communication between the respite center volunteers/staff and families. Recruitment is limited to people attending the particular respite centers.

This study intends to use Play Intervention for Dementia (PID) to promote cognitive functions of people with early to moderate dementia. This is a cluster randomized controlled trial aims to recruit 38 participants from two study sites. Participants will be randomly allocated into intervention or wait-list controlled groups. Both groups will receive the same content of PID programme at different time. The PID consists of 12 weekly sessions. Each session lasts for 45-75 minutes. The PID will be facilitated by a play specialist, trained elderly volunteers, and centre staffs. Cognitive functions will be evaluated with Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Fuld Object Memory Evaluation and Modified Verbal Fluency Test, conducted by a trained research assistant blinded to group allocation. Centre staffs (not involved in the PID) will be interviewed. Every alternate session will be video-taped for understanding the experience of the participants in the PID programme.

The goal of the proposed study, is to adapt a positive emotion intervention for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) caregivers into a self-guided online format that incorporates social connection components and adaptive system feedback mechanisms to promote intervention adherence. Previous tests of the facilitated version of the program, called SAGE-LEAF (Social Augmentation to self-Guided Electronic delivery of the Life Enhancing Activities for Family caregivers), have shown efficacy for improving well-being in dementia caregivers. If effective, the SAGE-LEAF program can be disseminated to Alzheimer's caregivers nationwide through AD treatment and research centers.

This primary purpose of this study will be to (1) examine the feasibility and acceptability of transitional care focusing on care needs of skilled nursing facility (SNF) patients with dementia and their caregivers (primary aim). The secondary purpose will be to describe the effect of the intervention on SNF patient outcomes (preparedness for discharge, quality of life, function and acute care use) and caregiver outcomes (preparedness for the caregiving role, caregiver burden and caregiver distress).

The study determined the safety of CNP520 in healthy elderly over 3 months. Data relevant for Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic modeling were obtained in order to define the target dose in subsequent efficacy studies.

Antalgic and psychotropic treatments have adverse effects in old people, and have to be used carefully. To improve the pain support and limit the drug consumption, it is possible to perform therapies without drugs. Among them, musical intervention represents an interesting complementary support, to deal with physical and moral pain in AD.

The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the absolute bioavailability of a single, fixed sub-cutaneous (SC) dose of aducanumab compared with a single, weight-based intra-venous (IV) dose in healthy participants and to characterize the pharmacokinetics (PK) profile of aducanumab. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the safety and tolerability of aducanumab administered via SC and IV routes in healthy participants and to characterize additional PK parameters of a single, fixed SC dose of aducanumab and a weight-based IV dose in healthy participants.

This is a longitudinal, follow-up study in participants with Alzheimer's disease (AD) who previously participated in study BP29409 (NCT02187627). This study is designed to assess the longitudinal change of Tau pathology in the brain of participants with AD using the PET ligand [18F]RO6958948 and to assess the safety and tolerability of PET ligand.

While the cause of AD is still unknown, evidence suggests it develops because of a complex series of events in the brain that occur over time. Two pathways possibly involved in development of AD are inflammation and oxidative stress. Scientists have linked chronic inflammatory events in the brain with the onset and progression of Alzheimer's Disease. Oxidative stress has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of a number of neurological disorders including Alzheimer's Disease. Etanercept (Enbrel®) is an approved drug for the treatment of several forms of arthritis when administered by injection. Some research suggests that etanercept, when administered by injection into the tissues close to the spinal column (perispinally), may modulate certain aspects of the immune system and provide some beneficial effect for people with Alzheimer's disease. Studies suggest that supplementation with specific nutrients may also have a positive effect in support of cognitive function. This study will be conducted at one research office with volunteers who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Each qualifying participant will be randomly assigned to receive an etanercept injection plus nutritional supplements for 6 weeks followed by a crossover and a washout period of 4 weeks to then receiving nutritional supplements alone or vice versa for another 6 weeks. Participants will undergo blood and urine safety assessments at the beginning and end of each 6 week treatment period. During 4 of the 6 weekly visits in the treatment period with the injections, you will complete the cognitive tests twice; once before and once 2 hours after the injection. During 4 of the 6 weekly visits in the treatment period without the injections, you will also complete the cognitive tests twice; once before and once 2 hours after being asked to lie down onto a table for 5 minutes. You will be allowed to continue your standard of care for Alzheimer's disease throughout your participation in the study.
