To assess blood levels of vasoactive mediators that may regulate pulmonary endothelial permeability and contribute to multi-organ injury in patients with COVID-19 disease and to correlate the levels of these mediators with disease outcomes such as ICU admission, length of ventilatory support, respiratory failure, kidney failure, heart failure, and death.

Researchers are creating real-time epidemiology registry to evaluate the efficacy of COVID-19 subject risk assessment scores based on recording of symptoms, biomarkers, chronic illness and mental health assessments with digital technology using wearables and mobile app tools. Researchers aim to study in Phase 1, epidemiological variations in COVID-19 presentation in both PCR positive and negative subjects in the registry. Assessment of variables, predictive modeling of variables that impact severity of COVID-19 positive and negative subjects and assessment of predictors for post COVID-19 complications. In Phase 2, 2700 subjects with COVID-19 positive test will be studied in the intervention group comparing ECL-19 vs placebo with primary end point of hospital admission assessment. Treatment strategy for PCR positive COVID-19 subjects in the registry who are in Stage I of the disease process with ECL-19 drug compared to placebo in reducing hospital admissions

The study is a multicenter, adaptive, randomized, double-blinded and placebo-controlled Phase II/III clinical trial. It will be conducted at selected investigational sites globally. The study is comprised of 2 parts.

We hypothesize that recovered COVID-19 patients suffer long term cardiovascular and pulmonary complications, which can be detected by point of care ultrasound. The goal is to comprehensively delineate the long term cardiovascular and pulmonary ultrasound findings in recovered COVID-19 patients, identify risks factors for prolonged heart/lung injury, evaluate long term effects of applied treatment, and assess late medication/vaccine side effects in COVID-19 patients.

This is a single center, single arm exploratory imaging study involving up to two intravenous microdoses of [18F]F-AraG (the second tracer dose is optional) followed by whole-body PET-CT imaging in participants with convalescent COVID-19. Up to 20 participants will be enrolled over an accrual period of approximately 24 months. Each participant will undergo one PET-CT scan following 50 +/- 10 minutes uptake following a single bolus injection of [18F]F-AraG in order to determine the tissue distribution of tracer in pariticpants with recent SARS-CoV-2 infection. A second optional [18F]F-AraG dose and PET-CT will be offered approximately 4 months following the initial imaging time point.

This study investigates the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on out-of-pocket costs, lost wages, and unemployment in patients with breast cancer undergoing breast surgery. Post-mastectomy reconstructive patients are at high risk for financial toxicity (adverse effects of escalating health care cost on well-being). The goal of this study is to collect information about financial costs patients may have as a result of surgical treatment for cancer with or without breast reconstruction and to learn if COVID-19 affects patient costs of breast reconstruction. This may help researchers demonstrate the financial consequences of undergoing breast surgery.

The goal of this clinical trial is to test an COVID-19 vaccination information video in adults with sickle cell disease. The main questions it aims to answer are why are some adults with sickle cell disease hesitant to receive COVID-19 vaccination and whether a COVID-19 vaccination information video tailored for people with sickle cell disease will reduce vaccine hesitancy. Participants will complete a brief survey before and after watching a short video with information on vaccine safety, efficacy, and the greater impact of COVID-19 infection on people with sickle cell disease.

Partners In Health (PIH), in collaboration with Harvard Medical School, aims to develop and evaluate an SMS-based intervention for Community Health Workers (CHWs) to combat COVID-19 and mental health-related misinformation in Haiti, Rwanda, and Malawi. The study involves three aims: identifying locally relevant misinformation through a card-sorting exercise with CHWs, developing targeted messages through cognitive interviewing, and evaluating the effectiveness of SMS-based educational message dissemination via a randomized controlled trial. The evaluation will assess the impact on public health practices, knowledge and attitudes among CHWs, and knowledge and attitudes among community members.

The purpose of the study is tolearn about the safety and effects of a combined vaccine for RSV and COVID-19 when given with a seasonal flu vaccine or when given alone. A combined vaccine will help to reduce the number of vaccinations given when trying to prevent respiratory infections. This study is seeking participants who: are 65 years of age or older. are healthy or have well-controlled chronic conditions. in the past have received at least 3 US-authorized mRNA COVID 19 vaccines, with the most recent vaccine being an updated booster vaccine given at least more than or equal to 150 days before Visit A101 (Day 1). have not had a flu shot in the last 120 days. agree to be present for all study visits, procedures, and blood draws. Participants will be involved in this study for 6 months. During this time, participants will have 2 study visits at the study clinic and a 6-month telephone contact.

Adults who do not have major health, kidney, gastrointestinal disease will be randomized to receive oral mitoquinone/mitoquinol mesylate (Mito-MES) versus placebo to prevent the development and progression of COVID-19 after high-risk exposure to a person with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection.
