Patients who have sleep disorders may be involved in accidents more frequently than those without. In addition patients who have sleep disorders may have more serious accidents and have increased length of stay.We aim to recruit drivers admitted as a result of a motor vehicle accidents and to ascertain the prevalence of sleep disorders in this group.

Bereavement refers to the expected reactions and sadness associated with the loss of a loved one. It has been reported that the loss of a spouse is rated as the major life stressor among survivors of varying ages and diverse cultural backgrounds. Statistics have shown that in the United States over 800,000 men and women lose a spouse each year. A wide range of symptoms has been associated with bereavement including; depressed mood, tearfulness, sleep disturbances, and irrational behavior. Previous studies have shown that up to 50% of bereaved individuals can develop major depression. Bereavement has also been associated with dysfunction of the immune system. As a result, bereaved adults are more vulnerable to infection. However, the exact relationship between bereavement and immunity is uncertain. Researchers firmly believe that a relationship does exist between stress, more specifically bereavement, immunity, and the increased chance of dying following the loss of a long-term spouse. The objective of this study is to find possible links between bereavement, depression, and the immune system. This study will follow a group of elderly bereaved spouses and a group of elderly people who have not lost a long-term spouse. The group of bereaved individuals will be followed for approximately 13 months after the loss of their spouse and the group of controls will be followed for 13 months after entering the study. Researchers will make note of any clinical, biological, and immunological changes in any participants of the study.

Sleep is important in maintaining the physiological function of the human body. Recently several studies have reported that preoperative sleep quality is associated with postoperative emergence delirium (ED) The ED is a common in pediatric patients undergoing general anesthesia with sevoflurane, but studies on the association of sleep quality have been rare. The investigators, therefore, aimed to investigate the relationship between postoperative delirium and pre and postoperative sleep quality in pediatric patients receiving strabismus surgery through this study

In this research study, investigators want to learn more about the factors that influence children's breathing during sleep and their sleep quality. Specifically, investigators are interested in factors that are related to risk of snoring, sleep apnea (a condition where breathing stops during sleep), and poor sleep quality.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), is the only movable joint between the joints in the head and neck system. It is a component of the chewing system and is involved in important functions such as speech, swallowing, taste and breathing. Temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) is the general name given to various musculoskeletal problems seen in the stomatognathic system, mostly affecting the masticatory muscles and/or TMJ. TMD is the second most common musculoskeletal pain after chronic low back pain. Patients with TMD may also complain of other musculoskeletal problems, craniocervical problems, sleep problems, and anxiety disorders. The aim of this study is to investigate, compare and examine the relationship between neck dysfunction, headache and temporomandibular dysfunction severity, anxiety and sleep quality in female individuals.

Sleep disorders are very common in alcohol patients (40-90% according to studies) These sleep disorders may persist after withdrawal and represent a major factor in relapse. In a previous study, the investigators validated a simple sleep questionnaire (the "Short Sleep Index = SSI") from a multicentre series of 602 American patients (Perney et al., Alcohol Alcohol 2012) The SSI is obtained from the Hamilton score (baseline score for anxiety and depression)

Several epidemiological studies in large cohorts suggest a strong association between sleep duration, complaint of insomnia and risk of hypertension.These findings suggest an important role of sleep quality in development of hypertension. Principal limitations of these studies are the cross-sectional study design, self-report sleep duration and poor measurement of blood pressure. The investigators propose to study an insomniac population with complete evaluation of quality and quantity of sleep, associated to complete hemodynamic measurement of hypertension.

The study examines actigraphic, observational, psychometric and associated repeated measurements obtained prior to and during psychopharmacological treatment.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between sleep disturbances and delirium in surgical ICU patients. The study set up to test the hypothesis that the occurrence of delirium is associated to the alteration of sleep quality and quantity observed in the critically ill patients.
