3D Shoulder Kinematics During Throwing-related Movement Patterns Tasks in Upper Extremity Low-to-moderate/Moderate-to-high...

Shoulder Pain

The main purpose of this study is to characterize and compare the 3D shoulder kinematics bilaterally while performing functional movement patterns tests that hypothetically replicate the 5 main phases of the throwing cycle. The tests are based on diagonal D2 for flexion (early and late cocking of the arm) and D2 for extension (acceleration, deceleration and follow-through of the arm) of the upper extremity of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques.

Musculoskeletal Pain of Neck and Shoulder Area in Female Office Workers: Relations Between Muscle...

Musculoskeletal PainNeck Pain1 more

The objective of this study is to determine the differences between neck and shoulder region skeletal muscle tone, stifness, pain-pressure threshold, self-reported pain intensity and physical activity in female office workers. 50-100 participants aged 20-60 are anticipated.

Neck-shoulder Pain. Large Scale Prospective Cohort Study

NeckShoulder and Arm Syndrome

The aim of this study is to determine and statistically justify the correlation between shoulder girdle injuries and the development of neck-shoulder pain syndrome. The study enrolled 1402 patients with hospital-treated shoulder girdle injuries (with consequences of upper limb trauma). Detailed protocol and questionnaire for clinical examination after discharge from the hospital were conducted. The prevalence of neck-shoulder pain among patients was calculated. The diagnostic value (sensitivity and specificity) of tests used in the study was assessed.

Risk Factors for Shoulder Pain and Emesis After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Shoulder PainNausea1 more

Risk factors for postoperative shoulder pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy were not clear. Moreover, risk factors for postoperative emesis specially for this surgery were not detailed and accurate. The present study is a prospective cohort study to identify risk factors for shoulder pain and emesis within 24 hours in Chinese patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia.

Postoperative Multiparameter Outcomes During the Six Months After Rotator Cuff Repair

Shoulder PainQuality of Life1 more

Rotator cuff tears are common amongst 50-60 year olds with no connection to their physical activity. When symptomatic, the injury affects all aspects of general health, quality of life and function. Surgical intervention is recommended only if conservative treatment fails. The purpose of the surgical intervention is to reduce pain, and improve function while improving range of motion and muscle strength around the shoulder. The purpose of the current study is to measure physical, functional, expectation, satisfaction and quality of life outcomes after rotator cuff repair surgery. Another purpose is to learn the reproducibility components of the above outcomes.
