DOAC ADRs Retrospective Study

Drug-Related Side Effects and Adverse Reactions

This retrospective study's objective is to evaluate if Cipherome's algorithm could have predicted the serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs) experienced by patients while on direct oral anti-coagulants (DOACs).

The Effect and Safety of the Seasonal Trivalent Influenza Vaccine in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients...

Immunogenicity and Adverse Drug Effect of Vaccines InfluenzaChronic Kidney Disease

In recent years, several studies revealed that the current influenza vaccine strategy might be of minimal vaccine effectiveness and had a smaller effect on reducing morbidity and mortality in the end-stage renal disease population than previously thought. Thus, this also raised the question about the effectiveness of administration of influenza vaccination in chronic kidney disease patients not on dialysis. In this study, the investigators aim to evaluate the effectiveness of seasonal trivalent influenza vaccine, formulation 2013-2014, in patients with different stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD) not on dialysis.

ELIGIBLE (Efficacy of Left atrIal Appendage Closure After GastroIntestinal BLEeding)

Adverse Reaction to Drugs Affecting the Gastrointestinal System

Patients with atrial fibrillation requiring anticoagulation treatment are at high risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. The investigators propose the percutaneous stop the oral anticoagulation and closure of the left atrial appendage with the Amplatzer ® system in patients receiving anticoagulant therapy for atrial fibrillation without associated valvular heart disease, to reduce significantly the risk of stroke while minimizing the risk of bleeding in a group of patients with high risk for both events. ELIGIBLE trial(Left atrial appendage Efficacy of GastroIntestinal Bleeding after closure) is a prospective, multicentric and randomized (2 to 1) trial, comparing percutaneous closure of atrial appendage left versus standard treatment with oral anticoagulants in patients with history of gastrointestinal bleeding and high embolic risk.

The Effect of Ondansetron During Intramuscular Ketamine Use in Children: A Trial in Emergency Department...

Sedation and AnalgesiaSide Effect of Drug

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the anti-emetic effect of oral ondansetron. For this evaluation, the investigators will perform a multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controled, randomized study. The investigators assumption is that oral ondansetron prior to intramuscular ketamine will reduce the occurrence of ketamine-induced vomiting.

Docetaxel, Cisplatin, and Amifostine in Treating Patients With Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer...

Drug/Agent Toxicity by Tissue/OrganLung Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Chemoprotective drugs such as amifostine may protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combining docetaxel, cisplatin, and amifostine in treating patients who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be surgically removed.

Pain Medication After Ambulatory Surgery

PainPostoperative2 more

In Finland, there are no guidelines concerning post-operative pain medication of ambulatory surgery patients. There is a wide variety in drug prescription and medication practices of various doctors and clinics. To treat patients' pain safely, type of surgery, unique patient needs, risks, adverse effects and patient's capacity to follow instructions should be assessed during the few hour visit at the clinic. In many clinics, pain is treated after hospital discharge with strong opioid oxycodone, but the amount and dose of prescribed oxycodone varies. In Helsinki Universitys Hospital, Peijas Hospital, investigators have over 2000 ambulatory surgery procedures annually. Investigators have strict policy in oxycodone use after patient discharge compared to some other Finnish ambulatory surgery clinics. The aim of this study is to evaluate, whether the prescribed pain medication is sufficient and whether patients' suffer from adverse effects after discharge from ambulatory surgery (letter interview). The study proceeds in three phases: 1) observation of current medication practice, 2) observation after optimization and standardization of hospitals drug prescription protocol, 3) evaluation of mobile phone app in pain medication follow up.

Camrelizumab Combined With Chemotherapy for Recurrent or Advanced Cervical Neuroendocrine Carcinomas...

ChemotherapyAnti-pd-1 Antibody5 more

Recurrent or advanced cervical neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is refractory to multimodal treatment, even to extensive therapy. Chemotherapy, consisting of platinum and etoposide, remains the main therapy for recurrent or advanced cervical NEC. In addition, bevacizumab has shown progression-free benefits in recurrent or advanced cervical cancer. Case report suggested anti-PD-1 antibody may have antitumor activities in NEC. Based on these evidences, a phase 2, single arm trial is conducted to explore the objective response rate (ORR) of platinum/etoposide/bevacizumab/anti-PD-1 antibody (camrelizumab) for the treatment of recurrent or advanced cervical NEC. This trial is to enroll 20 patients, who would accept 6 courses of platinum/etoposide/bevacizumab/camrelizumab. If the patient achieved complete or partial remission, a total period of 12 months bevacizumab/camrelizumab will be given as maintain therapy. The primary endpoint is ORR. The second endpoints are severe adverse events according to criteria of Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) and iRECIST Guideline, and critical changes of laboratory testing.
