Tobramycin Delivered by Nebulized Sonic Aerosol for Chronic Rhinosinusitis Treatment of Cystic Fibrosis...

Cystic FibrosisRhinosinusitis1 more

Patients with cystic fibrosis frequently develop chronic rhinosinusitis. Bacterial colonization is facilitated by a reduced mucociliary function and some previous studies suggest that the microbiology of the upper airways might influence the microbiology of the lower airway. The aim of this randomized control study is to demonstrate efficacy of antibiotic delivered by nebulized sonic aerosol therapy to decrease the bacterial load in sinuses and medium ostia and to improve the sino-nasal symptoms and endoscopic scores, quality of life and lung function

The Study of Nasonex® Compared With Placebo for the Relief of Symptoms Associated With Acute Bacterial...

Sinusitis

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Nasonex® (mometasone furoate nasal spray), when used together with an antibiotic, for the relief of symptoms associated with acute bacterial sinusitis. Efficacy will be based on both subjective (assessment of symptom severity by the patient) and objective measurements (computed tomography [CT] imaging of the sinuses).

Itraconazole for Fungal Sensitive Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

Chronic Rhinosinusitis

The purpose of this randomized controlled double-blinded trial is to determine if the addition of an oral antifungal to typical post-operative medical therapy can prevent or reduce the incidence of recurrence of nasal polyps in fungal sensitive patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP).

Efficacy Study of SIMVASTATIN to Treat Chronic Rhinosinusitis After Failure of Optimal Treatment...

Rhinosinusitis

The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical efficacy of oral treatment with a statin, SIMVASTATIN 40mg, in a target population of patients with severe chronic rhinosinusitis resistant to surgery followed by conventional medical and surgical treatment.

Management of Pediatric Chronic Rhinosinusitis in Asthmatic Children

Chronic SinusitisAdenoid Disease - Chronic

The objectives of this study would be to determine the most effective management for pediatric patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and asthma who fail medical management. The Sinus and Nasal Quality of Life Survey (SN-5), a validated tool, will be used to track symptoms of pediatric chronic rhinosinusitis. A decrease in at least 0.5 is felt to represent an improvement in symptom control. In this study, the SN-5 at one year post intervention will be the primary endpoint. Secondary endpoints include complications, revision surgery, and post operative endoscopy scores.

Efficacy of Seprapack Sinus Dressing Versus No Dressing in the Prevention of Intranasal Adhesions...

Chronic Sinusitis

The purpose of this study is to investigate if the space occupying effect of Seprapack will lead to a reduction in post operative adhesions and more healing of the sinus cavity when compared to the use of no packing material.

Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

This study will evaluate the effect of CBP-201, rademikibart, in adult patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP).

Corticosteroid Therapy for Chronic Rhinosinusitis Without Nasal Polyps (CRSsNP)

Chronic Rhinosinusitis Without Nasal Polyps

The purpose of this study is to determine the most effective route to administer steroids to patients with chronic sinusitis, specifically a type of chronic sinusitis not associated with nasal polyps (CRSsNP). The investigators would like to better understand whether orally administered steroids results in superior results when compared with nasally sprayed steroids. The investigators propose to test the hypothesis that for patients with radiographically proven CRSsNP, routine medical therapy consisting of a short course of systemic corticosteroids is superior to topical corticosteroids for relieving inflammation and the symptoms of CRS.

Propel Stent vs Kenalog-soaked Nasopore After Frontal Drill-out

StentSinusitis1 more

Surgery on the frontal sinus is done for patients who have sinus problems that do not respond to medications. It involves making an opening within the right and left frontal sinus of the nose to help it drain. For severe frontal sinus disease, the sinus is widely opened and the left and right sinuses become one large sinus. This is done with sharp instruments and rigid endoscopes placed through the nostrils. While the sinus heals after surgery, a stent or steroids or both may be used to try to help make sure that the opening does not close back up. Two current options for this are Propel stents and steroid-soaked Nasopore. Propel stents are FDA-approved. Nasopore and Kenalog injection are both FDA-approved, but their use together is part of the study and not specifically FDA-approved. A previous study shows that Propel stents are useful to reduce scarring in other frontal sinus procedures. We would like to know whether this is true in larger frontal sinus surgery where one common cavity is made and whether both steroid-containing stents are the same.
