MedlinePlus Health Prescriptions: Developing a Pragmatic Approach for Clinic Use
Acne VulgarisAllergic Rhinitis35 moreThe specific aim of this proposed pilot study is to compare two standardized processes (paper and electronic) to deliver a customized MedlinePlus health information prescription.

Balloon Sinus Dilation In Office or OR
Chronic SinusitisEndoscopic sinus surgery will be performed either in the physician's office or in the operating room (OR). Patients treated in the physician's office will have endoscopic sinus surgery performed with balloon sinuplasty devices. Patients treated in the OR will have endoscopic sinus surgery performed with or without balloon sinuplasty devices.

The Effect of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Chronic Rhinosinusitis (Diagnosis)SurgeryEnhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols have been widely applied during perioperative periods for different diseases, there are few reports of ERAS in patients undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). This study therefore aimed to evaluate the benefits of ERAS protocol compared to traditional care following ESS.

Alsaleh-Javer Endoscopic Sinus Score (AJESS) System
Chronic Rhinosinusitis (Diagnosis)Several endoscopic scores have been developed to assess Chronic Rhinosinusitis severity like the Modified Lund-Kennedy (MLK). This is a simple score only based on endoscopic signs. We proposed a more descriptive Alsaleh-Javer Endoscopic Sinus Score (AJESS) system which assesses all sinuses and nasal passages based on participant's severity of symptoms too. This would be a more reliable and clinically valid CRS endoscopic score. We aim to study thE AJESS system in 100 participants with stable CRS and 30 participants CRS who are experiencing an exacerbation (worsening of CRS).

Comparative Effectiveness of Antibiotics for Respiratory Infections
Acute Otitis MediaAcute Sinusitis1 moreThe purpose of this study is to identify and use patient centered outcomes to compare narrow-spectrum and broad-spectrum antibiotics for the treatment of common acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs) in children.

Application of Ectoin® Rhinitis Nasal Spray in Patients With Acute Rhinosinusitis
SinusitisThis is a comparative, open label, parallel group, non interventional study to further demonstrate the effectiveness and tolerability of Ectoin® Rhinitis Nasal Spray. In addition the effectiveness and safety shall be compared to a Sinupret forte. The patient applies Ectoin® Rhinitis Nasal Spray or takes Sinupret forte according to the instructions for use. The observation takes place over a period of 14 days. Response to treatment is recorded at day 7 and day 14 by the physician and in daily by the patient in a dairy.

Treatment of Patients With Acute Sinusitis
Acute Bacterial SinusitisFor each patient, an initial visit and at least one follow-up visit at the end of treatment should be documented by the treating physician in the case report form.

Integrating Targeted MedlinePlus Health Prescriptions Into Clinic Practice Workflow
Allergic RhinitisAsthma20 moreThe specific aim of this proposed project is to implement a standard process for integrating MedlinePlus health information prescriptions into the clinic workflow. Hypothesis 1: Individuals in the intervention group who receive tailored email health information with provider selected MedlinePlus links and added commentary for patient specific conditions will be more likely to seek information / use MedlinePlus compared with individuals in the control group. Hypothesis 2: Individuals in the intervention group who receive tailored email health information with provider selected MedlinePlus links and added commentary for patient specific conditions will be more satisfied with the information received compared with individuals in the control group.

A Study To Investigate If MRI Scanning Is Effective At Seeing What Hayfever Drugs Do In Nasal Passage....
Seasonal Allergic RhinitisSinusitisThe purpose of this study is to establish whether MRI scanning is a sensitive measure of the effects of existing drug treatments on nasal dimensions following challenge with intranasal allergen in subjects with hayfever. If successful this technique could be applied to increase confidence for internal decision making and ultimately may be used to assess how effective a new drug treatment is.
