Melanoma Risk Assessment & Tailored Intervention
MelanomaSkin CancerThe investigators are conducting a study to provide evidence about the comparative effectiveness of mailed, tailored intervention materials on cancer prevention behavioral outcomes. The investigators will send out three (3) tailored mailings for participants who are assigned to the intervention group. Second, during the eligibility screening, the investigators will be assessing the relative yield and functioning of two risk assessment tools (BRAT and FEARS) on determining an individual's level of risk for skin cancer.
CureOne Registry: Advanced Malignancy or Myelodysplasia, Tested by Standard Sequencing and Treated...
NeoplasmsLung Neoplasms23 moreRegistry participants with advanced malignancy or myelodysplasia will have a sample of their tumor or tissue analysed for genetic alterations using next generation sequencing (NGS) performed in a lab that has been certified to meet a high quality standard. Treatments and outcomes will be reported to the registry to allow further understanding of how genetic differences can lead to better diagnosis and treatments.
NIR and Skin Cancer Margins
Non-melanoma Skin CancerWe aim to determine whether the application of near-infrared radiation via standard heat lamp to non-melanoma skin lesions (such as basal cell carcinomas) before surgical excision is able to better delineate the lesion and surgical margins. If found to do so, pre-heating of skin lesions could lead to more specimens with negative margins. Patients presenting to the tertiary care centre skin cancer clinic for excision of skin cancer will be approached and offered to participate in the study.
Use of the Epidermal Micrografts for Wound Healing After Mohs or Excisional Surgery for Skin Cancer...
Neoplasm of SkinThis case series will assess the use of suction blister epidermal grafts harvested by a novel device on select patients that have wounds from Mohs or excisional surgery.
Safety Study of Photodynamic Therapy Using Photocyanine Injection in Treating Patients With Malignant...
Skin CancerEsophageal CancerThe purpose of this study is to determine the safety and maximum tolerated dose of Photocyanine injection in photodynamic therapy of malignant tumor (especially skin cancer and esophageal cancer). Projected accrual: A total of 18-24 patients will be accrued for this study.
Bioclinical Study of Scalp Photoaging of a Population Male Over 65 Years Old.
Skin AgingSkin CancerThe aging of skin, especially that of the scalp, is a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic aging factors secondary to the chronic sun exposure. For men with an alopecia genetic (= bald men), the solar part, in skin aging process, is major. The helio-dermal scalp is frequently the site of cancers mainly after 65 years. Objectives are to identify specific biomarkers involved in the photo-aging of the alopecic scalp
DUSA: Cyclic PDT for the Prevention of AK & NMSC in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients
Skin CancerNon-melanoma Skin Cancer2 moreThis is a pilot, phase 2, prospective, comparative study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the combination of Levulan® Kerastick® for Topical Solution and blue light illumination using the BLU-U® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator (LevulanPDT). The study hypothesis is that post solid organ transplantation patients, highly susceptible to non-melanoma skin cancer, can be treated safely and effectively through clinical cyclic application of PDT, lessening morbidity and possible mortality for this immunosuppressed patient population.
UV Dosimetry Feedback in NMSC Patients
Non-Melanoma Skin CancerThis study aims to characterize UV exposures among NMSC patients (those with a history of skin cancer) and to pilot an innovative behavioral intervention to decrease modifiable UV exposures. It will use UV dosimeters to objectively measure UV exposure and provide time and activity specific UV data on an individual level. These data will be used to develop a targeted and personalized behavioral feedback plan with counseling aimed at effective sun exposure behavior change
Efficacy of Rapamycin (Sirolimus) in the Treatment of BRBNS, Hereditary or Sporadic Venous Malformation...
Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus SyndromeVenous MalformationA prospective, nonrandomized, open-label, single-arm clinical trial to study efficacy of rapamycin (sirolimus) in the treatment of Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus Syndrome, hereditary or sporadic venous malformation
CERTICOEUR: A Secondary Prevention Study of Skin Cancers in Heart Transplant Patients. Everolimus...
Cardiac TransplantationSkin CancerHeart transplant is a recognized therapeutic strategy in refractory heart failure. Its success is however hampered by severe cancer occurrence and recurrence. The new m-tor inhibiting drugs Sirolimus and Everolimus have shown potential for reducing the incidence of cancer in animal models. They are potent immunosuppressant, antiproliferative and antiangiogenic drugs. This open labelled randomized multicenter study aims at evaluating the beneficial antineoplastic effect of Everolimus in 159 heart transplant patients suffering of recurrent skin cancer. Primary objective is to demonstrate a reduction in the number of new skin cancers. Secondary end point will be time of recurrence, incidence of non skin cancer, graft function following switch (including death), renal function evolution following calcineurin inhibitors reduction or withdrawal, Everolimus tolerance profile, schemes of calcineurin inhibitors reduction management in centers.
