Pattern of Skin Manifestations in Chronic Hepatitis c Virus Patients Before and After Direct Acting...

Hepatitis CChronic

Hepatitis C is an infectious disease caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV) that primarily affects the liver. It is one of the main causes of chronic liver diseases worldwide . According to World Health Organization (WHO), 2011 , Egypt has particularly high rates of Hepatitis C (22%). Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is known to induce both hepatic and extra-hepatic manifestations. About 17% of HCV patients present with at least one skin manifestation, which can be directly or indirectly induced by chronic HCV infection .

Assessment of Chilbains Occuring During Covid-19 Infection

Skin ManifestationsCOVID1 more

Some patients infected by covid-19 develop skin manifestations. These manifestations are still not well known and there pathophysiology remain unclear. Among them, acral manifestation resembling to chilblains appears frequent and quite specific. The aim of this project is to better characterize the cutaneous manifestations occurring during Covid-19 infection with a special focus on chilblains. These acral manifestation could be due to a direct viral effect, but also to microthrombosis or vascularitis. Understanding the pathomechanisms involved could provide interesting clue for understanding not only the skin manifestations but also some of the other systemic symptoms associated to covid-19 infection. This study plan to characterize these acral manifestations by analyzing the clinical and dermoscopic patterns and to correlate them with the non-invasive vascular explorations but also immune and coagulopathy explorations that are done in the CHU of Nice in covid-19 patients.

Screening for Chromosomal Microarrangements by CGH-array in Developmental Anomalies of the Skin...

Malformations With Skin Manifestations Suggesting Mosaicism

The principal result expected is the discovery of inframicroscopic chromosomal rearrangements in regions of the genome not yet known to be involved, or mutations in known candidate genes; The identification of such a mosaic rearrangement in an affected infant would lead to improved genetic counselling. Indeed, as this mosaicism is a consequence of a genetic event occurring at an early stage of embryogenesis, it would be possible to confirm the sporadic nature of the observed disorder and therefore to predict a very low or even negligible risk of recurrence for the couple concerned. For the affected infant, the risk for his/her own offspring will be assessed according to the nature of the genetic anomaly discovered. For medical practice, investigators hope that this study will lead to a clearer definition of the screening modalities for mosaicism in the disorders concerned. In particular, they hope to determine whether or not it is possible to dispense with a skin biopsy, which is more invasive than a blood sample.
