Effects of Peer Support and Yoga Music on T2DM With Depression and Sleep Disorders
Type 2 Diabetes40 patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who also have sleep disorders and mild depression in the community will be recruited and stochastically divided into the intervention group and the control group. Both groups will take the same group education courses including DSME (Diabetes Self-management Education), psychological support, improvement in sleep. Cranial Stimulation for Chemotherapy Symptoms in Breast Cancer
Anxiety DisorderBreast Cancer4 moreRATIONALE: Cranial microcurrent electrical stimulation (CES) is mild electrical current received through electrodes placed on the earlobes. CES may lessen symptoms in women with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy. It is not yet known whether CES is more effective than sham therapy in reducing symptoms caused by chemotherapy in women with breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying mild electrical stimulation to see how well it works compared with sham therapy in reducing symptoms caused by chemotherapy in women with stage I, stage II, or stage IIIA breast cancer receiving chemotherapy.
Exercise Training in Dialysis Patients With Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS)
Restless Legs SyndromeEnd Stage Renal Disease3 moreUremic etiology Restless legs syndrome (RLS) has been associated with poorer quality of life (QoL) compared to RLS-free counterparts mainly due to sleep deprivation factors. Exercise training in hemodialysis (HD) patients with RLS has been proven to be a safe approach in temporally ameliorating RLS symptoms similarly to the use of pharmacological treatment with dopamine agonists. However it not known whether the exercise anabolic stimulus and the dopamine agonist treatment could act synergistically for the improvement of physical functioning and muscle performance as well as in the amelioration of augmentation symptoms in hemodialysis patients with RLS.
(Valerian) for Improving Sleep in Patients With Cancer Receiving Adjuvant Therapy
FatigueSleep Disorders2 moreRATIONALE: The herb Valeriana officinalis (valerian) may promote sleep. It is not yet known whether valerian is effective in improving sleep in patients who are receiving adjuvant therapy for cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well valerian improves the quality of sleep in patients who are receiving adjuvant therapy (radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or hormone therapy) for cancer.
Venlafaxine With or Without Zolpidem in Treating Hot Flashes and Associated Sleep Disorders in Women...
Breast CancerHot Flashes1 moreRATIONALE: Venlafaxine may be effective in relieving hot flashes caused by hormone therapy. Giving venlafaxine with zolpidem (a sleeping pill) may improve sleep and quality of life in women who are receiving hormone therapy for treatment or prevention of breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying giving venlafaxine together with zolpidem to see how well it works compared to venlafaxine alone in relieving hot flashes and associated sleep disorders in women who are receiving hormone therapy to treat or prevent breast cancer.
