Triggers and Risk Factors for Recurrence of Atrial Arrhythmias With the Use of Long-term Monitoring...

Atrial FibrillationAtrial Flutter11 more

A prospective cohort study to evaluate the association between various triggers encountered in daily life and induction of atrial arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, atrial tachycardia and premature atrial contractions) with the use of long-term monitoring devices. The collected data of personalized triggers and risk factors will be used to define the individual phenotype of atrial arrhythmia.

Heart Failure and Sleep Disordered Breathing

Heart Failure

The purpose of this study is to analyze and summarize the characteristics of arrhythmia and heart rate variability of Chinese patients with three different types of heart failure combined with sleep disordered breathing based on the clinical data, to provide new diagnosis and treatment ideas for domestic patients, and then to improve the prognosis of patients betterly.

Sleep-disordered Breathing and Perioperative Atrial Fibrillation in Cardiac Surgery

Elective Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) SurgeryCoronary Artery Disease2 more

In patients undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, coronary artery disease, sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), atrial fibrillation (AF) perioperative atrial fibrillation and complications will be assessed. The primary objective is to determine, whether SDB patients have a higher rate of Major Adverse Cardiac and Cerebrovascular Events (MACCE) within 30 days after surgery compared to those without SDB.

TURKAPNE - The Turkish Sleep Apnea Database: A National, Multicenter, Observational, Prospective...

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Primary aim of the TURKAPNE (The Turkish Sleep Apnea Database) study is to generate a cross-sectional nationwide database to define clinical and polysomnographic characteristics of the sleep apnea patients in Turkey. Associations of phenotypes of sleep apnea patients with metabolic and cardiovascular diseases as well as risk for traffic accidents will be explored as secondary aims. Impact of treatment of sleep apnea on metabolic and cardiovascular complications as well as compliance with positive airway pressure treatment will be further explored longitudinally.

Counterfactual Thinking and Decision-making in OSA Syndrome

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

The aim of this research is to verify the ability of counterfactual thinking about medical decisions in individuals with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome when compared with healthy individuals

Clinical Evaluation of a Wearable Technology for the Diagnosis of Sleep Apnoea

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

This trial will aim to test a new wearable device for the diagnosis of Sleep Apnoea.

Sleep-disordered Breathing in Infants With Myelomeningocele

Sleep-disordered BreathingMyelomeningocele

This study aims to determine whether the risk for sleep-disordered breathing in infants with myelomeningocele (a severe form of spina bifida) differs among those who underwent fetal vs. postnatal surgery, and to examine the link between sleep-disordered breathing and neurodevelopment.

Premolar Extractions for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Children With Overjet

Obstructive Sleep ApneaMalocclusion

This research aims to provide pediatric patients with polysomnography (a sleep study) before and after orthodontic treatment to determine if the extraction of upper premolars for treating excessive overjet results in an increase of the AHI (Apnea Hypopnea Index) compared to similar patients treated without upper premolar extractions.

Untreated Sleep Apnea as an Aggravating Factor for Other Secondary Medical Conditions After Spinal...

Sleep ApneaSpinal Cord Injuries4 more

This cross-sectional prospective study will assess the potential association of more severe sleep apnea after spinal cord injury with more intense neuropathic pain, more severe spasticity, and more significant cardiovascular abnormalities including cardiac arrhythmias and blood pressure fluctuations. In addition, the participants' experience when undergoing home-based sleep screening test or hospital-unattended sleep screening test will be assessed in a semi-structured interview.

Post-Vent, the Sequelae: Personalized Prognostic Modeling for Consequences of Neonatal Intermittent...

Premature BirthAsthma in Children2 more

Despite improved survival of extremely premature infants in recent decades, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) graduates are diagnosed with asthma, sleep disordered breathing (SDB) in childhood, and neurodevelopmental impairments (NDI) at significant rates, disproportionate to their term peers. Early detection and intervention are critical to mitigate the impact of these impairments. Mechanisms leading from premature birth to these undesirable outcomes remain unclear, and accurate prognostic measures are lacking. This study wants to learn if these problems are related to certain patterns of breathing that babies had while they were in the NICU.
