Non-24 Hour Sleep-Wake DisorderBlindnessThe aim of this placebo-controlled randomized study was to evaluate the efficacy of Circadin™ 2 mg in improving total night sleep duration and stabilizing the circadian clock phase in totally blind subjects with non-24 hour sleep-wake disorder.
Insomnia and Daytime Function in Osteoarthritis

Patient Preference, Sleep Quality, and Anxiety/Depression: A Randomized Comparison of Etravirine...
Sleep DisordersEfavirenz causes neuropsychiatric side effects and sleep disturbance, including vivid dreams, dizziness, and abnormal tiredness. These symptoms are frequent during the first weeks of treatment, with subsequent attenuation but may not completely resolve even years after efavirenz initiation. The investigators plan a twelve week, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study. In group 1, efavirenz will be replaced with efavirenz placebo plus etravirine, in group 2, efavirenz would be continued, and etravirine placebo given in addition. After six weeks, patients in group 1 would switch to the regimen of group 2, and vice versa. The primary endpoint of the trial will be patient preference. Sleep quality, daytime sleepiness, and anxiety will also be investigated.

Study of Sleep-maintenance Activity of 3 Doses of SKP-1041
Sleep DisorderPrimary InsomniaSKP-1041 is a new formulation of a marketed sleeping agent called zaleplon. Zaleplon is currently available as Sonata as well as several generic formulations. Sonata and its generics induce sleep soon after ingestion. SKP-1041, however, is a formulation that is designed to become active 2-3 hours after ingestion. It is intended for use in people who have no trouble falling to sleep but who often awaken in the middle of the night. This trial will determine the best dose to prevent those awakenings.

NarcolepsySleep Apnea3 moreThe primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of Armodafinil (CEP-10953) administered on a flexible-dosage regimen of 100 to 250 mg/day for up to 12 months to patients with excessive sleepiness associated with a current diagnosis of narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)(regular users of nasal continuous positive airway pressure [nCPAP] therapy), or chronic shift work sleep disorder (SWSD).
Effects of Vitamin B12 on the Body's Internal Clock
Sleep DisordersCircadian RhythmCircadian rhythms are 24-hour cycles that influence natural functions in the body such as heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of vitamin B12 supplements on circadian rhythms and sleep-wake regulation.
A Trial to Compare the Efficacy of Rotigotine Transdermal Patch to That of Ropinirole on Early Morning...
Parkinson's DiseaseThe objective of this trial is to compare the effect of rotigotine (SPM 962) and ropinirole on the control of early morning motor impairment and sleep disorders in subjects with early-stage PD. Subjects who meet eligibility criteria will be randomly assigned either to rotigotine transdermal patch or ropinirole tablets. Trial medication will be titrated for rotigotine and ropinirole until an individual optimal dose is achieved. Following a Titration period of up to 4 weeks in the rotigotine arm and 6 weeks in the ropinirole arm, subjects will be maintained on the optimal or maximal dose for 4 weeks. At the end of the Maintenance period, subjects will be given the opportunity to enter a 2-year rotigotine patch extension trial. The first subject was enrolled in December 2004. The last subject was enrolled in June 2005. Last subject out is expected for October 2005. The trial is still ongoing.
Effect of Sleep Disorder on the Development of Lung Tumors
Sleep DisorderLung TumorThe goal of this observational study is to observe the lung tumor development in lung tumor patients with long-term sleep disorder. The main questions it aims to answer are: will long-term sleep disorder promote the malignancy of lung tumor if so, how exactly will the microenvironment of lung tumor change Participants will receive PSQI scale and MRI functional brain imaging before surgery, blood and tumor tissue will be collected during the surgery. Researchers will set non-sleep disorder group as control group to see if lung tumor microenvironment change when long-term sleep disorder exists in lung tumor patiens.
