Apatinib and Etoposide as the Maintenance Therapy in Extensive-stage Small Cell Lung Cancer After...
Extensive-stage Small Cell Lung CancerLung CancerAlthough fist-line therapy with Cisplatin and etoposide(EP)or Carboplatin and etoposide(CE) has been given, patients with extensive small cell lung cancer(ED-SCLC) still relapse and the 2-year survival is extremely low. There is no standard maintenance treatment recommendation for ED-SCLC patients after the first-line therapy.Apatinib has been approved as a second-line treatment for advanced gastric cancer. Several phase III clinical studies of non small cell lung cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer and other tumors also showed apatinib has less toxic side effects and better patient tolerance. However, the clinical application of apatinib in small cell lung cancer is still lack of evidence-based medicine,so this clinical trial is designed to investigate the efficacy and safety of apatinib combine with etoposide as maintenance therapy in ED-SCLC patients after first-line chemotherapy in our center.
Enhanced Quitline Intervention in Smoking Cessation for Patients With Non-Metastatic Lung Cancer...
Limited Stage Small Cell Lung CancerRecurrent Small Cell Lung Cancer7 moreThis randomized clinical trial studies enhanced quitline intervention in smoking cessation for patients with non-metastatic lung cancer. Stop-smoking plans suggested by doctors may help patients with early-stage cancer quit smoking
A Prospective Longitudinal Collection of Subjects Diagnosed With Small Cell Lung Cancer
Small Cell Lung CancerThe purpose of this study is to collect samples to evaluate the ProGRP and NSE assays independently as aids for monitoring the course of disease and therapy in subjects diagnosed with SCLC.
Validation of the MiCK Assay
MesotheliomaSmall Cell Lung Cancer1 moreTesting Mayo Clinic cancer patients with the results being correlated with prior patient therapy, performance status, and extent of disease.
Circulating Tumor DNA in Patients at High Risk for Lung Cancer
Cancer of the LungLung Cancer4 morePatients who are about to undergo a diagnostic or therapeutic bronchoscopy or thoracic surgery without a distant history of cancer will have their blood drawn for measurement of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) to validate the utility of molecular diagnostic assays for the early detection of lung cancer.
Amifostine to Prevent Side Effects in Patients Who Are Receiving Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy...
Drug/Agent Toxicity by Tissue/OrganLung Cancer1 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Drugs such as amifostine may protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of amifostine to prevent side effects in patients who are receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy for limited-stage small cell lung cancer.
Closed vs. Open Face Masks for Cranial Radiotherapy
Brain TumorBrain Metastases2 moreThe aim of the study is to evaluate whether open-face masks improve patient comfort/preference whilst maintaining immobilization performance as known for closed masks in patients undergoing whole or partial cranial radiotherapy.
A Prospective Study of Variation in Breath Holding Times at Various Phases of Respiration During...
Small Cell Lung CancerNon Small Cell Lung Cancer100 suitable patients of lung cancer shall be taken into the study over a period of 2 years. As per the existing treatment protocol in our department, all patients suitable shall undergo a routine Pulmonary function testing (PFT). Subsequently, recording of the breath hold shall be done at the following times At time of simulation At the time of first fraction of radiotherapy At mid radiotherapy At radiotherapy conclusion After the recording at a), patients shall be asked to perform deep breathing exercises/spirometer ball exercise to see the effect of training on the breath holding times.
Study of Nab-paclitaxel in Sensitive and Refractory Relapsed SCLC
Small Cell Lung CancerEvaluate the activity and safety of Nab-paclitaxel in patients with sensitive or refractory SCLC who relapsed after cisplatin or carboplatin and etoposide first-line chemotherapy.
A Mobile Supportive Care App for Patients With Metastatic Lung Cancer
Nonsmall Cell Lung CancerSmall Cell Lung CarcinomaSelf-management interventions can help patients and their families care for themselves along the cancer care continuum. This scenario has witnessed the rapid and ongoing growth in mobile technologies, including mobile health (mHealth). LuCApp (Lung Cancer App) is an application developed by researchers and lung cancer clinicians to gather symptom data in real time and to share it with healthcare professionals. This is a 24-week, two-arm, non-blinded multicenter feasibility parallel randomized controlled trial aimed to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of LuCApp vs standard care to improve self-management of symptoms and health related quality of life in lung cancer patients.
