Direct Measurement of Leukemic Cell Turnover (Synthesis and Removal) in Patients With Chronic Lymphocytic...

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia. B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) is the most prevalent leukemia in the Western Hemisphere, accounting for ~25% of all leukemia's. It represents a monoclonal expansion of small, long-lived, apparently slowly dividing CD5+ B cells. Because of the low proliferative index and a presumed uniform proliferative rate of B-CLL cells in vivo (a fact not yet tested or documented), B-CLL appears to be primarily a disease of accumulation rather than proliferation.

Characterization of Proliferating Compartment in B-Cell Patients and in Healthy Aging Subjects

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

By ingesting a non-radioactive and non-toxic compound "heavy water" for 6 weeks, the DNA of newly developed cells in the body of subjects with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia can be labeled and followed by performing routine blood draws at specified time intervals. By using mass spectrometric analysis we can measure how quickly new B-CLL cells are generated in the bone marrow and how quickly they leave the blood, a measure of cell turnover. This will help us to better understand the unique characteristics of this disease process.

Non-Myeloablative Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation With Matched Unrelated Donors for Treatment...

Acute Myeloid LeukemiaMyelodysplasia9 more

The primary objective of this study is to examine transplant related mortality (TRM) at 100 days <30%. A TRM of >50% is considered unacceptable. This study also seeks a TRM at 12 months that is <50%, engraftment >90% (defined as donor cells >80% at 6 months), and 1 year overall survival >50%.

Investigation of the Cylex® ImmuKnow® Assay

LeukemiaNon-Hodgkin's Lymphoma7 more

Currently, there is no accurate way of predicting the occurrence of Graft vs Host Disease (GvHD) or infection. The purpose of this study is to analyze blood with the ImmuKnow® Assay to see if doctors can detect which patients are at risk for GvHD and for getting an infection before they occur.

Tolerance and Resistance to Ibrutinib in Patients With Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL

B Cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Assessment of the mutational profile of the residual clone and the distribution of lymphocyte subpopulations at 3 years of treatment with ibrutinib This project has an epidemiological part: to establish the percentage of patients, in a real-life situation, still undergoing treatment 3 years after its initiation, as well as a biological part: to determine the evolution of the clone and the prevalence of BTK mutations and PLCg2 in the absence of clinical or biological criteria for scalability.

Study to Describe the Management and the Use of Healthcare Resources in Patients With Chronic Lymphocytic...

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

A study to assess the real-life management and use of healthcare resources during the initiation of: Venetoclax in combination with rituximab is indicated for the treatment of adult participants with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who have received at least one prior therapy. Venetoclax in participants with CLL with the deletion of the short arm of chromosome 17 (del[17p]) who have received at least 1 prior therapy or participants with CLL without del(17p) who have received at least 1 prior therapy and for whom there are no other available treatment options.

Study of the Prognostic Role of Gene Polymorphism in the Development of B-cell Leukemias and Lymphomas...

B Cell LeukemiaLymphoma

To search for a genetic marker of B-cell leukemias and lymphomas in children of Kazakh nationality, a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis of DNA obtained from the peripheral blood of patients with B-cell leukemias and lymphomas in children of Kazakh nationality and normal control will be performed.

Occupational Status and Hematological Disease

Chronic Myeloid LeukemiaChronic Lymphocytic Leukemia3 more

Diseases do not only have a physical role in people's live, but they usually involve changes in life as whole. They may modify the structure of the conjunction with life setting, thus, deeply impacting relationships with others. While clinical results of new therapies for hematological diseases are well documented in scientific literature in terms of prolonged life expectancy or remission from disease, less is known about problems and barriers preventing the return of patients with a chronic blood ailment to everyday life. Indeed, there are no published data on this topic within the Italian context. The present explorative study aims at identifying the main problems with which patients affected by a Chronic Hematological Disease (CHD) deal when returning to everyday working life, factors associated with work reintegration and, finally, to understand the need for facilitators enhancing reintegration outcomes. Results from this study will be also helpful to raise consciousness about the problem of reintegration into the labour market of workers with CHD and to call for awareness campaigns for the general public and health professionals.

Immunological Repertoire in Patients With Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

LYMPHOMA

RIPAL is a prospective cohort study, which main goal is to define T and B immune repertoire diversity and magnitude in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma of high and low grade and chronic lymphocytic leukemia before and after treatment, and to evaluate the association of these parameters with clinical patient data and outcomes.
